K9 and Thunderbird emails are basically the same app now. Both are owned by Mozilla Foundation.

I moved away from VLC due to its heavy memory usage. I took ages to find a decent replacement, opting for Just Player (FOSS).
I use NewPipe too, it just has problems removing watched videos out of your queue. The best for that was the Invidious platform but it's no longer as popular as it used to be.
