Pictured is Premier1's deer fence, which is basically just two electrified strands run parallel (3ft apart) to one another along the perimeter of the area it encompasses. It makes the deer anxious to jump because they're unsure if they can land safely. Perhaps critically, they recommend baiting deer to touch the wire with scent caps (so they get zapped and recognize the wire as a hazard).
I think I'm going to give this a go.
