it's likely this year there will be several across several large areas of the planet... no solar flares today, but a mild geomagnetic storm
bitcoin isn't going to be affected except in as far as where the internet goes down, it will be
when the outage in the iberian peninsula went out, i was in the middle of a call with a work colleague, and our connection got pretty spotty, mainly because lisbon and madrid are the main landing points of the eastbound cable from madeira, there's nothing going through africa
next year will probably be mild like 2024 but this year is gonna be pretty bad for the number of auroras and power network failures, i expect several of starlink's satellites to fall out of the sky, one went out last year, it is the very middle of the crest of the solar max this year
you bitcoin will be safe, but in some places for several days to a week there is likely to be a loss of or heavily degraded service
not being a doomsayer here, you can go watch the solar wind and geomagnetic storm data on your own
still gonna buy it and use it whenever i can but honestly, it seems to me more like a gift from God in the last days so we can get out of sodom and gomorrah
likely better things are coming after that but i'm still gonna get my bunker and goat ranch and prepare to live without electricity... and get a boat with sails and a diesel engine i get modified to use a crank in case i really need to cut across the wind, diesel engines older than about 25 years can function without power too
bitcoin is gonna be fine it's just not going to always be available on and off, i'm more concerned about the next solar max tho, that's gonna be lit and by which i mean probably a micronova and pole shift
you probably think i'm just dooming but i'm gonna have my self ready for it, and bitcoin will help me get there
