I think that concept applies to negativity in general. Nostr isn't pleasant because we don't share any negativity. There is tons of anti fiat, anti government, and anti crypto sentiment shared here. Since they are common enemies for most of us it is negativity with instead of negativity at.
We could step back and make that choice intentionally. We will need to if we want to keep nostr pleasant as more diverse social groups join.
If you have never interacted with me before and choose to come to my posts and be negative at me with escalating hostility, I'll be forced to block you.
