I'm not sure if this counts as "turning off edits," but you can click the top right of edited posts to view the original note. I'll edit this post on purpose so that the differences between the edited and original posts are obvious. As far as I know, there's no way to fully disable this feature (other than cloning the repo and patching it yourself :)). This is the original note.
