That only happens because said people that commit errors do not read from the proper sources. Instead they read it on social media or listen from friends/videos/tv.
My rule of thumb is, the less ingredients it has, the less chances of it being bad. And then I shove the ingredients list into AI so it tells me what they are, where they come from and it they're natural or synthetic.

Washington Capitals goaltender Logan Thompson has been named the NHL’s First Star for the week ending Jan. 19, the league announced.
Thompson, 27, posted a perfect 3-0-0 record during the week, recording a stellar 0.33 goals-against average and a .984 save percentage, along with two shutouts. His performance helped extend the Capitals’ point streak to 10 games (7-0-3) and propelled the team to the top of the NHL standings. The 6’4”, 207-pound netminder stopped 61 of the 62 shots he faced over three starts, including back-to-back shutouts on Jan. 14 and 16. Additionally, he registered a career-long shutout streak of 198:22 from Jan. 11 to Jan. 18, the third-longest in franchise history.
Thompson is the third Capitals player to receive NHL Three Stars of the Week honors this season, joining Alex Ovechkin (First Star for the week ending Nov. 3) and Jakob Chychrun (Third Star for the week ending Dec. 1).
Through 26 games this season, Thompson boasts an impressive 21-2-3 record with a 2.09 goals-against average, a .925 save percentage, and two shutouts. Among NHL goaltenders with at least 16 games played, he ranks second in goals-against average, third in save percentage, and is tied for third in wins. His shutout victory against the Ottawa Senators on Jan. 16 tied Braden Holtby (25 GP in 2015-16) for the fewest games needed to reach 20 wins in a single season in Capitals history.
Since Nov. 1, Thompson has held opponents to two or fewer goals in 17 of his 21 starts, further solidifying his status as one of the league’s top goaltenders this season.

First day of Chinese New Year, and I can hear firecrackers cracking...somehow making me think about the past. So I just type here what I'm thinking directly.
One major mistake I made when we open sourced the Avalon 851 to the best of our abilities, was that we did not either:
(1) Release to Bitcointalk properly. From my past in Open Source, and then Github banning accounts related to Bassel Khartabil/Syria, I was hellbent on releasing everything myself under 100% control.
(2) Not enough marketing power because no proper executive level corporate backing at the time.
However, I tell it as it is...from looking at that repo, one can backtrack the origins of Bitcoin mining from FPGA (Qi Hardware Milkymist > Icarus > Avalon Miners)
In China, open source is/was always kind of funny because everyone just shared code freely because people did not see that as an issue.
There are some good stories about how SMT's used FTP and everyones designs were just in a folder that everyone shared hahahahahaha :)
Needless to say, Bitmain's designs are derivatives of Canaan's design and then Bitmain's optimizations also made it back into Canaan's design simply, in many cases, from shared FTP drives :)

Security: Security is paramount. L2 solutions must offer complete trustlessness and immutability—as with Bitcoin’s base layer—so that users aren’t trusting a third party. This will be crucial in maintaining Bitcoin’s credibility.
Transaction Finality: Bitcoin transactions are final and irreversible on the base layer, which is essential for preventing double-spending. L2 solutions should preserve this feature while enhancing transaction throughput.
Interoperability: The L2 should facilitate seamless communication with other blockchains and financial systems, ensuring Bitcoin can function as the universal settlement layer.
Ease of Use: For Bitcoin to achieve mainstream adoption, an L2 must be user-friendly and accessible, even for people without deep technical knowledge.
Sustainability: Environmental concerns will continue to grow. An ideal L2 should support Bitcoin’s energy-efficient consensus mechanism (proof of work) while providing scalable solutions that don't rely on wasteful computations.
Proposed Solution: Bitcoin-Integrated Smart Channels (BISC)
I propose a new Layer 2 framework called Bitcoin-Integrated Smart Channels (BISC). It combines the strengths of existing L2 technologies like the Lightning Network, Rollups, and State Channels, while introducing new innovations that solve scalability and user experience problems in a way that can scale for 200 years.
1. BISC Architecture:
State Channels + Smart Contracts:
State channels allow for instantaneous, off-chain transactions between users while only recording a final state on the main Bitcoin chain. This eliminates the need for every transaction to be recorded on-chain, enhancing throughput. The addition of smart contracts allows for complex transactions and agreements to be made within channels.
Smart contracts would enable programmable money in a way similar to Ethereum, but anchored on the Bitcoin blockchain. These smart contracts would be used for everything from simple payments to complex multi-signature setups (e.g., for DAOs or decentralized exchanges).
Multi-Asset Support:
The BISC framework would allow the Bitcoin L2 to support not just Bitcoin transactions, but also other digital assets or representations of real-world value (like tokenized real estate or commodities). This makes Bitcoin’s L2 a universal settlement layer.
Hierarchical Channels:
Instead of only allowing one-to-one channels (as with current state channels), BISC would introduce multi-party channels. Users could create groups of participants with complex off-chain agreements. For example, several merchants could join a single channel to settle payments between themselves off-chain, only posting the final outcome on the Bitcoin chain.
This would provide huge scalability advantages and facilitate complex multi-party interactions, allowing for an economy of interlinked state channels.
2. Bitcoin-Ledger Integration with a Trustless, On-Chain Settlement Layer:
Atomic Settlement:
BISC channels would support atomic settlement—this means all off-chain agreements can be settled at once, ensuring that there’s no risk of one party defaulting on their commitment. Once the final settlement is reached, it’s securely recorded on Bitcoin’s base layer, ensuring transaction finality and immutability.
Bitcoin-anchored Finality:
Instead of relying on separate cryptographic proofs (as in the case of Rollups), each BISC transaction would be anchored to Bitcoin’s blockchain using its OP_CHECKSIG and OP_CHECKMULTISIG mechanisms, which ensure that every final settlement is fully secured by Bitcoin’s proof-of-work mechanism.
Rollup Integration:
BISC could integrate with optimistic rollups and zk-rollups to handle large-scale, off-chain transaction processing. This would allow for high-volume transaction processing (such as for decentralized exchanges, NFT marketplaces, or gaming applications) while still leveraging Bitcoin’s secure, decentralized ledger.
3. Key Innovations for Longevity:
Self-Adjusting Consensus Mechanisms:
BISC could incorporate a self-adjusting consensus model, where the network can evolve based on the growth of Bitcoin’s adoption and technical capabilities. For example, as more demand is placed on L2, the consensus and validation process could become more efficient and low-cost.
Interoperability with Other Blockchains:
As blockchain ecosystems grow, Bitcoin will need to interact seamlessly with other Layer 1 and Layer 2 chains. Nobody is perfect. If your solution to a problem is to require people to be perfect, then its not going to work. Of course she could have been more responsible and done some research on the crap she's putting in her body. But she lives in a paradigm of expectectations and incentives. Nobody is better than their incentives. Even people who go against the grain, like us bitcoiners, only do so after learning some hard lessons and seeing a shift in incentives.
You said yourself that the industry is corrupt. She has a right to expect officials to be truthful. Not a baseline property right, but it is right to expect that people in positions of authority aren't corrupt, and anyone claiming authority must uphold their integrity or lose legitimacy. This is why most of us are here - the authorities are illegitimate by way of dishonesty. That doesn't mean we should blame people for stupidly believing them - it means we should put the blame where it actually makes a difference, where it belongs, on the corrupt officials. Corrupt doctors, corrupt insurance, corrupt oversight bodies, corrupt representatives. We know that. She doesn't know that. Maybe now she does. Her innocent expectation of a working system is a credit to her, in a way.
And... You're missing an opportunity. Or, people thinking that way in general are. She now would be easy to teach. She would be an ally against the shitbags that should have done their job. If you want to actually stop the corruption, you'll need a lawsuit. There it is... But not if all you do is dunk on her. If all you do is dunk on her, then from her perspective, you're part of the system that betrayed her trust. Yes, naive stupid trust. But put that away so you can score a win.
