It's a common retrieval method. I'm not sure exactly why the extra step is necessary, but Zeus isn't the only one to require that. Cashu Wallet, which works with the npub.cash addresses does something similar. People can send to the address all the time, but your received payments don't actually hit your wallet until you open it. Same goes for Minibits. It'll accept all payments as long as it's running, but you need to open the wallet for those payments to arrive. 远古时期，即便弱小的连密林都深入不得，落单在草原上只配被鬣狗掏肛，人类共同体便已然以部落的形式开启对自然的无限索求。坚定执行一套朴素原则，我看见我征服，什么猛兽、野人，根本就不带怵的。人类共同体就像被平头哥附身，看谁都不顺眼，对谁都不服气，不服就要干，干服为止，要么把对方用笼子关起来作豢养，要么打服了在脖子上套枷锁押做奴隶，抽鞭子催干活。至于自己干输了怎么办？还能怎么办？人死鸟朝天呗。多少天降猛男，就这么在与天斗，与地斗，与人斗的过程中消失的不着痕迹。站在人类历史的角度看，这些显赫一时、风光一处的大人物，只不过是个头大点的蝼蚁。只要是胆敢跑到历史滚滚车轮前，碾碎或碾残，根本不带眨眼的。影响历史进程？呵呵，就你？也配？
扫光的周边，散落在全球各洲的草创板人类共同体，也得以初步壮大。彼此间小范围自我吞并后，演进出“国家”这个走上前台的新表现模式。国家基于吞噬效率的需要，很快走过低效的奴隶制，进入封建社会，国家的规模也随之不断扩大。
工业革命之前，因为科技发展缓慢，以及受统治辐射范围限制，国家力量无法跨越高山、大海、荒漠这些自然阻隔，没法进一步向外扩张，进行全球范围的共同体间自我吞并。既然无法向外获取，那就只能向内。于是在全球范围内，基于地缘政治，各自自发的圈地，形成小圈子，对内吞噬血肉。这种以血肉为饲的血祭不分肤色人种，不分国家，不分信仰，都严格遵照底层规律，无情献祭生命。
小的海岛型封闭式，例如日本，小归小，也不甘寂寞爱凑热闹，进行了长期的村级械斗。中亚因为各势力汇集交界之后，更是以上帝之名，让一辈子不曾离家20里的欧洲基督徒，坚定踏上千里讨伐异教徒的征程，惨死异乡不改虔诚。而大中华区更是野心家的养蛊场，统一、分裂、统一、再分裂、再统一，周而复始。
简而言之，这段时期全球范围内，各共同体都在反复对内碾磨血肉，供养饕餮，“白骨露于野，千里无鸡鸣”诗句的背后，是成千上万生命的非正常消失。这种非正常消失，对这一段时期来说，却是间隔几十年，甚至只需要间隔十几年，就必然会再次发生的常态。而这一切背后，只是冰冷的铁律在默默起效，饕餮饿了就得吃肉。
随后的工业革命开启了大航海时代，得益于这颗蓝星表面大多是水，征服了海洋，理论上就已经可以踏遍地球绝大部分土地。同期催生的副产品一一新社会制度又将国家的统治辐射范围进一步扩大，得以落子全球。以欧洲为代表的当时人类共同体先进势力，率先将饕餮的血口引向了对新科技和新世界的“对外”吞噬。
对当时的欧洲人来说，那是激情澎湃，充满机会和挑战的时代。一艘艘布满藤壶的大帆船踉踉跄跄靠岸，带来黑奴、瓷器、香料、黄金，也带来另一些给予厚望的同行船只遭遇不幸的消息。明知危险极大，需以命相搏，冒险者却依旧络绎不绝，自然是因为对外的索取可以获得巨额回报。
整体来说，这个时期以欧洲为代表的人类共同体领头羊，在疯狂且贪婪的从外部汲取资源之后，科技发展稍缓，欧洲之外的新世界所积存百年的财富被抢空，靠新科技和几十年暴饮暴食的外部滋养，体型已经又扩大了数倍的饕餮，可忍不得哪怕一刻的饥饿。对外没了着落，很自然的红着眼，再次转头对内。而这个时候科技已经发展到能带人上天下海，不用吃喝，狂奔千里，彻底打破了地缘限制，将全球抹平。
以欧洲为主，连续发起了两次世界大战，疯狂自噬的血雨就此横扫全球。这其实很公平，也很不公平。公平在既然吸纳了美洲、亚洲、非洲和大洋洲的资源，将他们纳入了经济体系，血祭自然也要带上他们。不公平的是，这些落后地区大都是被吸纳的殖民地，被次等对待、极限压榨的同时还要被拖进血祭，好事没捞着，坏事全有份，但是有什么办法呢？这就是落后的悲哀。
这个时期，无论是短时间内对财富的快速摧毁，还是对人命的高效收割，都同步跨上了新维度。饕餮舔着大了一轮的血爪，又又又进化了。
战后人类幸运的开出大吉盲盒，鼓捣出信息革命，使得科技和经济同时获得爆炸式发展。这两个混合出的成就，就像给食物添了工业香精，馋的饕餮舔着大鼻孔，流着哈喇子，再次将嘴对向外，电力、数据的指数级增长，似乎暂时满足了饕餮的大胃口。
世界难得整体和平了几十年，可惜和人命这道硬菜比起来，这些就是膨化食品，看似吃了很多，却一点都不耐消化，这会嘴还没停，肚子又开始咕咕叫了，饕餮一边手抓把拿得吃着膨化食品，一边时不时回头看。
当下已经被人类开了一半的新盲盒AI，如果再无法获得有效突破，电力转化使用如果不能提效，没法提高这膨化食品的能量密度和吸引力。你猜这饕餮又会想去干什么？
血盆大口，一只巴巴张着等食物送到嘴里。当下的替代若无法抓住他的胃，那回过头寻找熟悉的味道就是必然选择，入得了饕餮眼，在这个过程中大概率要被塞进去果腹的，还能有谁？
所以AI是信仰，也是只能成功，不能失败的破釜沉舟。因为没时间了，哪怕只是晚了点成功，对人类社会来说，都是一场不敢想象的血光之灾。
改变唐朝命运的香积寺，对垒两军拢共死了7万军人。一战仅索姆河战役就死了47.5万军人。才几十年后的二战，广岛、长崎两颗原子弹，啪啪两下带走以平民为主的50多万人。饕餮的爪子已经越来越大，胃口也越来越难被满足。一旦转向血祭，以上面这个增长逻辑和主体变化推算，你觉得这次需要多少人命去填？按概率去推算，有多大可能会落到我们自己头上？
如果听懂了上面这个逻辑，你应当就能理解，为什么现在无论你愿不愿意，想不想，都只能努力去维持美元为主导，潮汐收割世界的货币体系。因为当下最需要的就是时间，需要维持住基本秩序，让AI赶出新替代。而在维持国际秩序层面，现在没有更好的替代方案，甚至并行过渡的可行方案都没有。现有秩序如果在这种情况下崩塌，其结果必然是饕餮最爱的全球范围大规模血祭。现在这模式可只是要钱，那是要命，要你全家的命。
那假使你想通了，认可钱财乃身外之物，只是1后面的0，命这挡前面的1要是没了，后面的0再多也没用。决定一心一意辅佐维护现有美元体系，只求苟全性命成不成？不好意思，也不成。
因为该体系的组成是各个国家，各个国家有各国自己的内忧，也有因惧怕被他国吞并，而天然自带的不互信。更何况美元潮汐模式，本就有死道友不死贫道的零和博弈互害属性。你敢主动交出全部身家，人家还不敢信你没留后手，就算真没留后手，还怕你藏怨念日后反悔。
现在这么多人看着，不得不留你性命。可以后关键时候你要是反水怎么办？最优解自然是慢慢肢解，最后弄死，这样晚上才能睡安稳觉。所以这一条路也是死胡同。
其实出路一直在，完全不用想那么多，做那么殷勤，墨守陈规萧规曹随不好吗？你老美潮汐收割，我“不要啊不要”，度让些不伤筋动骨的好处。看着貌似被打服了，遵守了老大制定的世界秩序，间接为哄骗饕餮做出了贡献。实则守住了核心底子，广积粮缓称王，等着抢摘到新科技果实，在实打实超车后，回头抽人家嘴巴子不爽吗？笑到最后才是真的笑啊。再说了，老美收取的租子也不全自己霍霍掉，人家也得上供去哄哄饕餮。不当家不知当家的难，不能只看人家收好处，不能无视人家干的活，对吧？没看见为了维持美元霸权的世界货币体系，他们这债背的有多重吗？没看见在科研上每年烧掉多少真金白银吗？我们再怎么想弯道超车，现在不也还得瞄着老美后背，等着他在科技前沿探出新路吗？
回到我们个人，其实就更简单了，无非是基于以上逻辑，对钱和命的提前安排。钱简单，把闲钱砸向AI赛道，赌赢了是星辰大海，输了……输了命都没了，还在乎钱干嘛？如果成功，即便称不上肱骨之臣，也算得上用脚投票的坚定支持者，分润利益的时候会一点好处都不给？不至于吧，这么狠？
命的话，我会倾向于陶渊明的避世逻辑，和他同理的是投资上一句口头禅:人多的地方不去，更简单直白的描述是不扎堆。不理解，你可以把饕餮想象成在我们背后追杀而来的巨熊，你左边有三个人正往左逃，右边有10个人往右边逃，你该往哪逃？你傻呀，当然一个人往中间跑了，换你是熊，你会放着一大堆肉不要，一小堆也还不要，硬要去撵那一小坨？你真当自己香喷喷，走哪都是主角呢？而且就算上辈子挖了饕餮家祖坟真点背，赶上那斗鸡眼只会聚焦中间的傻熊，咱也是为集体利益牺牲小我，主动引走了恶熊，该青史留名被纪念的存在，怎么着也算捞着点好，不纯亏。
记住当饕餮转身时，孤狼永远比羊群存活率高。下次看到美元霸权是阴谋的标题，别急着转发，你转发的是10年前的错误认知，而真正聪明人早已在布局下一个10年的潮汐。

So, most of them haven't needed to be, because as long as you have the server standing between them and the players, you don't need to port. By server here I mean either BBS software, or a tool called Gamesrv (https://www.gamesrv.ca/) which you can point to the door game itself. Now, obviously, most of us don't have a DOS system laying around, and while you could probably spin one up natively on an old computer easily enough, you have other options, as most of these will run just fine with dosemu or freeDOS. I know on Facebook there used to be a few of them set up through Gameserv and wrapped in the Facebook app wrapper, so you could play LORD and others right on that shitty site (but we are going back quite a few years as I left it in 2013).
One of the few I know doesn't work without at least going in and changing your BIOS clock is Solar Realms Elite -- it's got a Y2K bug, and the source code is lost to history. I can confirm though it does work if you change your date.

100%. Bitcoin's value proposition necessitates it being used as money. Scarcity is a necessary requirement for value, but it is not a sufficient requirement in and of itself. Arguably even gold only maintains its value because people see that fiat will one day collapse, and that gold may need to return as money. That's certainly the mentality the preppers have when hoarding it anyway. And how many nation states are using it, with demand spiking amid breakdowns between their fiat (and the uncertainty of access to the dollar rails).

Yea, I've been catching Lyn on podcasts for awhile before I really took the dive back into Bitcoin (I bought in 2013 and have held a portion of it since then, but had since gone off in a lot of directions and hadn't really built the conviction). Her understanding of the Eurodollar system is much better than most, and her ability to communicate it is unmatched (even among those who DO get it, perhaps even more into the weeds than she gets).
And yea, Broken Money was a major catalyst that got me looking a bit closer at the Bitcoin I bought all those years ago.
