The sheep and birds are extra happy with the piles of warm grain yesterday morning. Still warm after the brewing process I was able to finish coating the main garden with grain and had the extra for the animals. Once the ground has thawed enough I will till it all in and be ready to setup the irrigation and plastic cover.
Hit Mistequa casino in the evening for date night and had a great meal and we walked out up a few dollars from gambling. We rarely go to casinos but we have a bunch of them in the region that have good specials running all the time.

Do the Republicans in Congress have any sense of shame at all? The House of Representatives passed a resolution yesterday that guarantees annual deficits of $2 trillion every year between now and 2034 (technically, the House predicts deficits of $1.9 trillion in 2027 and 2029, but all up, that’s $20.2 trillion in NEW deficits, along with increasing the debt ceiling by $4 trillion.)
Without any debt reduction, total US government debt will be over $56 trillion by 2034. Republicans voted for this, even though the text of the CR itself acknowledges that this year’s $1.9 trillion deficit will be 6.2% of GDP and that $952 billion in net interest expense is 3.2$ of GDP. The text also acknowledges that 70% of the budget is made up of ‘mandatory spending’ for Social Security and Medicare and that ‘mandatory spending’ is up 59% since 2019.
It’s possible there are trillions of dollars worth of fraud in Social Security and Medicare that DOGE will uncover (and save). But it’s also possible that the bill for the Welfare/Warfare State is coming due over the next ten years and that there's no way we can pay it. We can’t grow fast enough to increase tax revenues. We can’t (or won’t) cut the programs that most contribute to the deficit (including and especially the firepower industry). And our Congress, even when led by nominal Republicans, kicks the can down the road yet again. As a reminder, you probably don’t own enough Bitcoin, gold or silver.

My friend posted this and it really encapsulated what I was feeling yesterday.
Still curious as to why Israel and Ukraine situations are viewed so differently.
- Both are imperfect countries, but they broadly share the same values of individual freedom, representative democracy, and rule of law.
- And they are both longstanding American allies
- Both are sovereign territories invaded by barbarians
- Those barbarians share none of our values (eg. try being a woman under Hamas; try criticizing Putin in a newspaper in Russia)
- Those barbarians killed, tortured, raped, pillaged, plundered, kidnapped Israelis/Ukrainians
- Both Israel and Ukraine fought back against the invading barbarians (Israel with more success, wiped out almost all Hamas leadership; Ukraine has caused Russia to lose way more troops than it has lost, and it has stopped the Russian Invasion)
- The support in the U.S., and the support abroad, for the two countries is very different
- I strongly oppose the two on her murdering, kidnapping rapists side.
- I strongly support the imperfect liberal (classical sense) democracies who are our allies

But seriously answering your question, Monero is going to enable FCMP later this year which enables L2s. I've seen ZK rollup PoCs being discussed. Too early to say what that will be though.
By the way Bitcoin isn't even a particularly scalable design. Any variant of DAG(Nano) or MimbleWimble(Grin, Beam, MWEB) puts Bitcoin to shame in regards to blockchain bloat
