Good morning Nostr!
In a first today the morning pages I've done as part of the Artist's Way were not filled with sadness and anger. Instead I wrote about feeling blessed and lucky. Not much has dramatically changed in my day-to-day life since starting this, except I must have needed to push through all those dark feelings. It's really a remarkable revelation for me, because I spend a lot of time and energy focusing on being positive. I've always been very conscious about how uncomfortable the darkness I've experienced can make other people, and I've disliked when other people led with stories of being a victim or otherwise seemed to wallow in the darkness. But I guess in a way I was going too far in the other direction, and denying a part of my experience by rejecting the harder emotions. God gave me those experiences and emotions same as he gave me all this other stuff, so it must be part of the plan. I am glad to be in a different stage of processing that grief, although I'm sure it'll probably cycle through a few times.
The Artist's Way is deeply spiritual, and refers to God more than most things I feel comfortable with (most of my life has been nonreligious and agnostic). I like that the author will often refer to it as "Good orderly direction." It's been really something getting more in touch with my spirituality and it feels auspicious that Lent begins this week as well.
Anyways, I hope everyone feels the grace of God as they need it and has the best day available to them!
