I don’t live in normieland, can’t tell you how they treat it. I’m not talking in general. I’m talking about as a bitcoiner I’m surprised I was unaware of this.
Go you if it’s not surprising to you, just saying incel tones are no better than woke ones, and not reporting facts because they seem woke is just as misinformed as posting wokeness as fact.
“Nobody talks about this” is a literal observation from my experience.
In fact not much has been discussed on the demographic changes of Bitcoin this cycle besides there being more suits.
If challenging assumptions means woke then it’s lost all meaning.
It challenged my assumptions, I thought that was interesting, and I shared, sorry if it triggered you or felt too woke.
When I was gathering the information I too got ideologically defensive and thought it was woke bs, but I verified and felt misogynistic for thinking it couldn’t be true.
I’m not misogynistic the information was under reported so I was never aware, all the information I was given prior made me think the figure was closer to 10% than 33%+.
Nobody talks about this *enough for me to have been made aware earlier* and I wouldn’t have been made aware if yesterday wasn’t international women’s day. 😂🧡

I've been trying to orange pill a good friend of mine, I read this article https://fee.org/articles/what-gave-bitcoin-its-value I found on nostr:npub1lxktpvp5cnq3wl5ctu2x88e30mc0ahh8v47qvzc5dmneqqjrzlkqpm5xlc webpage (thanks btw) It was the first article that landed - it answered the question of why does it have value for him, which he was struggling with and with which I was struggling to eloquently get across to him.
Question now though, but he had a reasonable followup statement and question: I would still have some reservations about the fair value of it. Was he saying it's worth 100,000 because of the number of people using or what?
And honestly I'm asking the question too, why is Bitcoin worth the amount it is? (in fiat terms, lets start with that anyways)
I was going to mention about 'Metcalfe's law' as it's what he's referenced essentially.

Ich habe kürzlich in einem Podcast gehört, dass der Sprecher davon ausgeht, dass höchstens 10-15 Prozent der Menschheit in Zukunft bitcoin in self custody halten würden. Das ist eine realistische Möglichkeit. Als Bitcoiner dachte ich mir zuerst, dass das nicht gut ist. Jetzt ist mir jedoch aufgefallen, dass selbst wenn nur ein kleiner Teil seine bitcoin selbst verwahrt, es dennoch besser ist als jede Alternative (bisher). Denn es ist verlgeichbar mit dem Gold-Standard insofern, dass die geldausgebenden Institutionen einen Rahmen haben, den sie nicht ausweiten können. Ich meine damit, dass selbst während eines "echten" Gold-Standards, die meisten Menschen nicht direkt mit Gold zu tun hatten. Die Besonderheit ist, dass sie jeder Zeit die Möglichkeit dazu gehabt hätten. Und das ist bei Bitcoin genau so.

I recently heard in a podcast that the speaker believes that at most 10-15 percent of humanity would hold bitcoin in self-custody in the future. That is a realistic possibility. As a Bitcoiner, I thought at first that this was not good. But now I have realized that even if only a small part holds their bitcoin themselves, it is still better than any alternative (so far). Because it is comparable to the gold standard in that the money-issuing institutions have a framework that they cannot expand. What I mean by that is that even during a "real" gold standard, most people did not have direct contact with gold. The special thing is that they would have had the opportunity to do so at any time. And that is exactly the case with Bitcoin.

Old style pairings made for a seriously long day at the wrestling tournament yesterday. He ended up winning two matches and losing two matches and learned a good bit along the way. The waiting in between matches was the worst combined with the cacophony of sound that was almost constant for the 6 hours we were there. Thankfully the rest of hte tournaments are digital pairings.
