Yeah, I am seeing more and more frequent payments on LN that would have been cheaper to make on-chain– As a general rule, smaller payments are cheaper on LN whereas larger ones are cheaper on-chain since fees on LN are based on ppm (dependent on size) and fees on-chain are only dependent on # of UTXOs involved. So currently with low mempool fees, on-chain can be just as cost-effective if not more than LN.
However it seems that there are plenty of use cases where (near) instant final settlement is important, even if it's not the cheapest option. Same would be true comparing to a traditional Wire Transfer, I'd argue LN is still a vast improvement even if fees are relatively similar.

my issue with android is they keep changing it to be more and more complicated, and the motorola g51 i bought nearly 3 years ago the way it turns on the screen every time the gyroscope or mic gets some signal

I pick up some sarcasm ... I had brought this argument many times over: POW is indispensable for Bitcoin but on nostr it would really be unnecessary waste. Better add some sats to your post. Some proof-of-payment (POP) instead of proof-of-waste. We all want to know how relays and devs will get paid, yet some support POW? Provably pay sats to me or any of my follows and I will consider it a non-zero-cost message. I might still have a higher threshold to spending time to consume the message and the same might be true with POW but I see zero advantage of using POW vs. POP.
