I kinda just FOMO'd all in on BTC within a couple months of mild shitcoining on Robinhood back in the day. I bought in at that local top at 16000 or so in 2019 and it just started falling so I panic sold.
What happened after that is kinda hazy but I researched the hell out of Bitcoin and bought back at 12k or so, trading a bit to bring the cost basis down because I was still retarded. I did it though, down to 10k, and then held all through that crash to 3k. I became one with the gorilla and have held ever since except to live off the savings a bit between jobs.

auth doesn't work, because the spec is confusing, and none of the client devs seem to actually understand why it's important

It was a great episode. There is a disconnect between the artists and the tech that you seem to be handling well. For us in the V4V/PC2.0/Demu space its everything but it's only a small part for most artist involved but I think some day that might flip but it has to be grassroots, or it won't last imo.

nostr protocol dev has a really big problem of some big headed idiots and a lot of mousey cowards who are implementing what shitty specs exist wrongly and then other devs have interop problems and solving this is a communication issue that has clowns like fiatjaf and pablo as gatekeepers
it's not going to work, it hasn't worked, and the history proves this
what will work is when people start to join together and form organisations like #gitcitadel and actually discuss things
and it's no coincidence that three of this group's members are relay devs because most of the nip guardians are retarded client devs who couldn't write a codec if their life depended on it
so i'm staying here, and working with the people who actually care about making this a viable business, because unless it's a viable business, it's as retarded as mastodon, which is also centrally dictated, and basically runs on one codebase

i already explain it in https://protocol.realy.lol - the apps should contain the spec they are working towards, and if other want to interop with that app (relay or client) they should read that spec, copy it to their repo and implement it
the nips repo is the wrong way to do it, at minimum it should be a wiki, and navigating the "unratified" proposals should be easy
that's not what PRs are for, they are very specific and narrow things and without a welcome mat to point people the way to these proposals nobody is actually joining the discussion, nobody even sees them
the number of times i have had to ask people for the PR link for not yet existing nip numbers i have lost count
if you are serious about making this community work, and you should be, since apparently you are some kind of leader, then you also want it to be easier to discuss new API methods
and that alone is part of the problem, you are in denial about what they are, they are API methods, and this is why nip-11 is a total mess and why almost no clients actually request these, or if they do' they don't seem to understand them, like nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn 's client clearly doesn't comprehend the idea of nip-42 demand to auth for specific reasons but generally not, and nostr:npub1ye5ptcxfyyxl5vjvdjar2ua3f0hynkjzpx552mu5snj3qmx5pzjscpknpr his app also doesn't understand auth for specific reasons
