also, yeah that 'statistics matrixy` thing, that used to have the name "fuzzy logic" and i am a big fan of one of its early proponents, Bart Kosko (who wrote the book with that title, as well as a cool cyberpunk book called Nanotime)
i've written several algorithms already that do "statistics matrixy things" namely first two were difficulty adjustment algorithms but right now my main paid gig task is writing one that searches for similarities between gamer's profiles (games, playtimes, achievements, teams, etc) and it's part of an "AI" project and the normies don't know this but fuzzy logic is the foundation of AI

in fact, i just want to tell a story, back in 1999, i was dreaming up exactly a fuzzy matching graph based algorithm that would do translations between computer languages, it was practically what started me on the path back to my childhood dream of being a programmer
so, yeah
i hate the hype, but the technology is literally stuff that i'm very interested in, and have done several pieces of work related to, and am working on such a thing right now

Well, if you think of it like a coupon or a voucher, then it starts to make more sense.
E-cash can only be redeemed at the mint who issued it, so they're like gift cards or electronic bus tickets. I could see proprietary mints, where the e-cash could be redeemed for a service or product.

there would be no need for the confusing EOSE if you just cut the protocol in two and socket for subscription, starting now (after eose) and query, for up to now
queries use a different algorithm, they ask the database, where subscriptions are when the server receives messages and they are to be propagated to subscribers
this is one of the dumbest things about the nostr protocol, using sockets to do queries and then assuming that the client wants to subscribe when usually they don't, and often aren't even listening for them, but they hold the socket open anyway
