I run nodes too. I help my friends and family pay for things and earn sats with lightning. they do use it, and when they are ready to self custody their own node, I hope there is block space left for them.
I’m not saying to scales to the masses, HECK BITCOIN WONT SCALE TO THE MASSES BECAUSE THERE ARNT ENOUGH UTXO’s!!
All I’m saying is, I’m personally scaling it to my own inner group of peers, lightning is working, and no one can take it from me.

People can also leave channels open, I’ve personally never had someone close a channel on me, if you take the opportunity to ask another node runner to open a channel with them, 99% of the time they won’t close it on you.

“A lot of money” is subjective, I can see your viewpoint. It does take a good bit of time to save in bitcoin before you can jump straight to node running but just a few 100,000/300,000 丰 channels can get you started in the right direction.

If the UX is what makes lightning suck. Learn how to use it, or Just wait till you trust someone else’s node and get it all swiped from under your feet. This happened with LNDhub, Wallet of Satoshi, lifPay, etc..
Better user experience doesn’t change the fact that it’s not that if it’s not your rack, it’s not your stack.
If you learned to self custody, you can learn to run a node. It’s not that complicated.

Vom angeblichen Hitlergruß von #Musk, über Manipulation der sozialen Medien durch Musk, bishin zum Umbau der USA zur Diktatur durch #Trump war so ziemlich alles an #ÖRR Propaganda dabei.
Erkenntnis: Wenn man hier zu Lande etwas ändern will, muss man irgendwie den #ÖRR überwinden. Extrem viele Menschen, sind extrem anfällig für Propaganda jeder Art und der #ÖRR ist die vermutlich gewaltigste Propagandaschleuder der Geschichte. Der Schlüssel liegt im ÖRR und ich sehe offengestanden überhaupt keine Lösung.

My one dog was born with a spinal problem. Super rare. We manage it, but he’s 2 years old and has lived his life with at lest a small level of pain.
He acts totally different than my other dog because of this. You see it in his face even when he’s simply resting. The pain takes a toll. Every time someone goes to pet him, he shies away… worried that maybe they’ll touch the wrong spot. He doesn’t even take treats well. He goes to the other room with them to inspect them before he’ll eat them. Making sure everything is ok before he eats it.
This is the same thing that happens with people that experience a lot of pain. The pain takes a toll. You can play it off, you can try to live normally, but beneath the surface you are vastly different than a person that hasn’t experienced a lot of pain. The way they move. The way they act when others approach. The way they think. Totally different.
Be kind to people. You don’t know what type of pain may be lying beneath the surface.
