What I love about NOSTR is that we can strongly disagree with each other in very fundamental ways, but almost always, that disagreement is conducted with intelligence and respect for each other.

No, there is always truth, even in legacy media, but I think the Compton metaphor is apt here.
If there are riots in London, I'm not there. If there is poverty due to inflation, I'm not there. If there are laws that disadvantage me, nobodys trying to force me to follow them.
For the most part the UK and most countries who are reported as struggling is exaggerated and applied as if it's a single entity.

No, he was hacked, then booted, I watched the interview he gave. The trust statements (with the exception of Fort Knox) were specific to his hack.
The hackers tried to schill scam coins, when his followers realised it wasn't him, the hackers flooded his account with the N word and that was when he was removed by the bots.
He's been trying to contact Elon directly to reconnect him, but no response, so he's schilling his book from other frens X accounts.

Wasted several hours writing a script to grab data from X's API, paid $200 for a non-hobbled account, only to find that querying data older than 2012 is restricted to approved academic researchers.
Fucking ridiculous given that I can search for the same data via the web client.

I have exit options in place and I will be spending most of my time out of the UK from next year.
But I intend to keep a home here and will be back for as much time as is allowed (mainly in the summer). The UK is still one of the most beautiful and temperate climates on the planet and I still feel at home and comfortable here.
But don't believe the media, either old or new.
Imagine if I saw a riot in Compton, LA and I warned you to get the f**k out of Florida.
I visited a friend in Northampton yesterday, mainly to play with robot home deliveries.
I am glad I live in Oxfordshire.

Bitcoin is definitely anti-finance-capitalism and anti-waste. When your money is brought into existence without the need to constantly pay interest on it, the toxic "we need growth, growth, growth all the time" attitude can be seen for the social poison that it is. And when your currency is always increasing in purchasing power, there is no desire to spend, spend, spend, and spend quickly -- instead, this is replaced by a desire to only spend when it is really necessary or extremely beneficial.

yes, but we're talking about existing users. hence why I'm saying - when you can tell me how we can migrate our existing npub to new ones and clients effortlessly switch your notes, reputation and followers - then key rotation is implemented on Nostr. Everything else is a cope.
And this is classical pattern with devs wanting to keep the system/protocol simple, so they start throwing fancy terms to muddy the water and avoid adding complexity required to properly handle real world use case.
