如果最后查实，AOC将涉嫌干预司法、包庇罪犯，将被判刑入狱，议员身份也无法豁免。

It’s definitely happening in the brain. When you go under anesthesia, you’re unconscious. So some sort of receptors are shut off in the process. Some believe it’s the microtubules in the neurons - particularly in the neurons because all cells contain microtubules. And one of the hypotheses is that there is a collapse of wave function happening in microtubules in neurons and that is what gives rise to consciousness. I happen to agree with this theory as it has made the most sense to me so far out of all others. It also coincidentally ties together many other phenomena that seem to suggest there are quantum processes happening in our brain.
So, given this theory, I find it very difficult to believe that any consciousness will arise in AI any time soon. The process that happens in the brain is beyond anything possible with current quantum computers by an order of many magnitudes. I suspect we are 100-400 years away from replicating this process in the brain that would give rise to an actually conscious AGI. Until then, it’s a good mimic at best.

Funny crocodile story 🐊
I asked our captain today if he sees many crocodiles.
He said ya, I used to have one as a “pet”. The croc would come by his dock post fishing and he would feed it fish scraps. Over time, he felt like they became friends.
One day, the croc stopped showing up..
A couple days later, he found out that someone was trying to sell his pet croc’s head to his neighbors! He recognized its face, and it pissed him off.
Our captain proceeded to shoot the croc snatcher’s car to retaliate.
A lawsuit ensued..
It’s yet to be seen if justice will be brought to this inter species relationship drama.
And now, the croc in this video does not have a name and our captain is trying not to become as close to it as he was with his recently passed friend.

During interviews, I get a lot of questions about the potential for a strategic bitcoin reserve and how it may affect price.
I typically answer by talking about how I tend to take the 'under' on the prospect for a bitcoin reserve. In other words, as a base case they might recategorize currently-held bitcoin, might add a bit, etc. My lesser case is that they go and actually buy a lot, which would positively affect price, sure. I then go on about how, my long-term bullishness of bitcoin is not dependent on that, and I'd rather structure my view to assume a baseline and potentially be surprised to the upside on price within a given period, rather than focus on singular bullish catalysts and then be surprised to the downside if those specific things don't materialize.

So, I had this science fiction story in my mind for over a decade, but never had time to write it due to everything else I had to work on. It was always on my long-term to-do list.
When AI started to take off a bit over the past few years, I was like, "Jeez, I don't know if it'll be any good, but If I don't write this thing, it might turn into historical fiction rather than science fiction." More realistically, I'd have to keep adjusting it every five years because the future is now.
But things have a tendency to align. Or maybe I just look on the bright side. Because another big component of the story is about social media causing increased social isolation if we're not careful with it, etc.
Since we're doing some large construction work in Egypt over this past year, my husband and I have had to spend more time apart than ever (he's managing the project there, while I have to manage our obligations here, and we travel to each other when we can).
I work from home. So, sometimes during this period I have days where I wake up, go for a walk, work, do an interview about finance online, exercise, go back to work, then go to sleep, and never speak to someone in person. Just me in the house and being the weirdo trying to get 10k steps in the sun around the neighborhood.
That both gave me insight into how that type of isolation can affect people (luckily temporarily in my case), and also ironically gave me time to finally write the thing, which helped me deal with the aforementioned isolation.

I run mine on a dedicated computer and occasionally copy it to my laptop via an 2tb m.2 drive in an enclosure. Yes a dedicated machine is ideal. pis and external drives are not super reliable.
