- simplicity
- targeted publication
- incentives for running relays
- unique IDs
- (backwards) compatibility with existing content, relays and profiles
- etc...

Save it and the password you chose in a password manager. You can later log in to clients by pasting the ncryptsec and password. If you want to be extra careful, store the ncryptsec and password separately. The reason to encrypt it is that it keeps your nsec secure when it's in your clipboard or stored in unsecure setrings (like when sending it to yourself via email or text message).

The more compelling argument is the cost of verification, onchain privacy techniques lead to expensive worst case verification of blocks, see the recent zcash spam attack that basically stalled the entire network. I'm not sure, but I'd guess Monero FMP has similar attack vectors.

people do have their reasons of course

which is a opinion people can have.
I think its pretty weird tbh.
much more likely that people's perception of cryptographically secure systems will change over time
and in the future it won't be so edgy to trust an obfuscated, but mathematically guaranteed supply.
like only a weird subset of people though it was ok to trust elliptic curve cryptography ten years ago.

yeah - that message was an eye opener.. even the closest person to me doesn't get it.. scary but the saying everyone gets BTC at the price they deserve - in this case I mean the educational aspect because she has more BTC than most people on planet earth because at $16k she gave me money more to shut me up than anything else...
if I have given recommendations of books and educational content too 200 people... maybe 5 have actually done the work..
2 people have bought knowing what they own.. so the "success rate" as a % is increasingly low..
Im working on myself but my small stack is my safe guard - we still live in FIAT so having the ability to stack as much as possible is tough but NOSTR and people on here do help..
