Yes, I knew fed has been decreasing it's balance sheet because they were trying to tame inflation. But we have a debt based economy. Less money in the system means less liquidity. Which should help inflation but that's not really going to help inflation until 2nd and 3rd order effects. But less liquidity also greatly heightens the chances a bank can't cover it's debts. People go diliquent on loans and someone blows up. Triggering more printing to pump liquidity and save the banks.

Cash is good. Bitcoin is way more convenient because it's digital and otherwise shares all of cash properties with th added bonus that it can't be printed by someone else.

I'm busy implementing user sync for grain. I'm almost to the negentropy part. When a new user writes a note to the relay, I fetch their kind10002 and assemble their outboxes. Now I need to fetch all their notes and use negentropy to sort and store it. That sound like the right flow to you?

Oh I thought you meant computer resources. All you need to run grain is mongoDB server (community server linked in the readme) and grain itself. Check releases on GitHub for the latest binaries. There are binaries for both windows and Linux. Once mongo is running, all you need to do is run grain. It'll initialize the configs for you when you run it. Then you can change the configs to suit your use case.

What you store is up to you. I'd recommend checking my own implementation, grain 🌾. It's very configurable and has purging built in that you can fine tune with extensive whitelisting capabilities. Not much storage is needed unless you're running a mega relay and never purge. I have a couple dozen people whitelisted and it's using like 35mb. My relay also purges events from all non whitelisted users but allows anyone to write to it. When I implement WoT I'll also have a configuration for excluding WoT from purging. I had a lot of the same questions and no implementation was as configurable as Id like it to be without writing a bunch of external code, most likely in something I'm not proficient in. So I made my own implementation. GitHub is on my profile. There's also info about grain on my website linked in my profile. I'd be happy to help you set I up too if you'd like to try it.

No... There's an actual denominator. It's some trillions of dollar depending on if you denominate in M1 or M2 supply. Or both. The problem is the denominator never stops increasing and will never decrease. A decreasing denominator would also not be good. Fixed denominator is the best measuring tool.

I mean you could whitelist anyone with a certain badge or badges
Want to whitelist them, just award them a badge. Badge come with immediate perk. Also gives incentive to earn a particular badge. Relay operator could also specify badges not made by them if they trust the badge creator to build their manual web of trust.
Just a cool idea.

With this I can now implement a way for users to manage their notes on the relay themselves as well as implement an administration widget for the relay operator so the configurations can be changed from the frontend. Importing events will likely move to only be available for whitelisted users.

Yes... which means you still have an on chain tx for the swap from to. Which means when you spend it on some drugs for a certain price, there is a on chain tx that closely matches the same value amount you spent on the drugs. Now you can say no one knows how much I spent on the drugs but if the fed is watching they will know how much you bought and it's rough estimate of how much its worth. Then they can see on chain tx in bitcoin for close to that amount and start monitoring you. BTC doesn't have a privacy failure. People do.

There are a ton of versions of core out there running. Not every node is running the newest implementation. The chances are slim to none and the event you speak of knots would likely have the same bug. It's very similar with some filters applied that could just as easily be applied in your core settings.

Yes. You can always decide to run an older version.

Not really... Not in Bitcoin protocol

Not for Bitcoin. One option. "I don't believe a second, compatible implementation of Bitcoin will ever be a good idea. So much of the design depends on all nodes getting exactly identical results in lockstep that a second implementation would be a menace to the network." - Satoshi

I'm against running anything that isn't core. You can run core with the same filters if you want

Probably about the same cost over time but one solution is a lot more sovereign

Beaver explains it okay. You can't see who or how much XMR but feds can see that drugs were sold and funds moved on BTC chain nearly equivalent in value. If you're not careful, leaking your IP and this giving reason to start monitoring you. You could just stay pseudonomous in BTC and use tor, Satoshi.

I there are a few masterpieces I can think of too. But the greatest of all time has to be Tarkov.
Stray is a masterpiece. Give me some of yours.

If you're moving in and out of BTC, you're making footprints on chain tied to balances you're spending. Swap to $50 of XMR from BTC, on chain tx, buy $50 of drugs with XMR, winner where that came from. Closely matches amount here on chain. With ever decreasing volume of activity, XMR becomes even less private. Best to just stay pseudonymous in btc

I think Escape From Tarkov is the Greatest Game of All time. That's a tall order but I think it's true. Right behind Minecraft probably.

Make the art more impressive than the TV and I will buy it. TVs are pretty damn impressive. Technology is an art in itself.

Because you can be pseudonomous with BTC and moving in and out of XMR deminishes any privacy you gain and hodling XMR deminishes your purchasing power.
The short of it, you only need one form of money. Money is a zero sum game. If you're not first, you're last.
