yep, i am aware of the problem of overtraining and strain
today my legs feel up to another session, but only if i'm not hitting a fast pace on my walk up the hill, that exercise is a daily baseline that limits how far i can push during training until it is relatively "light" compared to what i do in my training (currently, i think 78 squats is less total power requirement than the 800m/30m altitude round trip)
i pretty much decide if i'm going to take another rest day or not, after being up for a while, usually after the sun has finally come up i have some sense of what my legs are up to, i think last night they got a really good rest, because they distinctly feel better, i'm thinking to maybe hit the hydrolysed beef protein smoothie shortly and then see how i feel - probably i will do the exercises today, everything feels ok, just want to make sure i'm providing sufficient resources for a good recovery, 100% this weekend i'm doing no training, if i do some today, need a 2 day rest after three sessions with a day between as i have this week

We talk about the 'social graph'.
I used to keep tabs on my twitter account's social graph visually with a foss package called Gephi. It has a plugin that would scrape my twitter account's activities when twitter still allowed free API access.
Is there a nostr version of plugin for Gephi that enables me to look at my social graph the way the Twitter plugin did?
In the picture the center is my old twitter account and all the other 'dots' are the accounts/tweets I interacted with. The size of the dots indicate how much interaction I had with accounts/tweets etc.
It'd be cool af if we had this interactivity for nostr.

Here anyone who gets 200k signatures can participate to the presidential elections, independent or with a political party. 200k that's about 1% of the people to put things in perspective. Usually such elections are held in 2 rounds. If any candidate gets 50% of the votes it is declared winner after the first round. If neither get 50% then 1st place and runner up go into the second round.
This time 15 candidates participated. One woman was disqualified by the Constitutional Court (CC) before the contest even begin. Then there were 14 of them out of which 4 were posed to be above 10% in the polls. Two of them were of the more historical parties while all the rest were new entries in a matter of speaking.
The big surprise was that the guy who got roughly 2M votes and won the first round was an unknown independent candidate for most. He reported no budget for his campaign while he got #9 trending worldwide on tiktok. The runner up was a woman, the mayor of a small city and a former news anchor.
Then there was a huge scandal and one day before the second round, CC voided the first round, therefore the entire process. A future date will be announced for the new election, probably in the Spring.
For now I'll refer myself from casting any judgement on the candidates or the overall process since I have no horse in this race. I'll only state that the information about the winner of the first round got to me the night before the first round started. If I knew beyond any reasonable doubt you can bet that the ones in charge were dead sure about the outcome. That or I'm the deep state. 🐸

File over app is an appeal to tool makers: accept that all software is ephemeral, and give people ownership over their data.
In the fullness of time, the files you create are more important than the tools you use to create them. Apps are ephemeral, but your files have a chance to last.
The pyramids of Egypt contain hieroglyphs that were chiseled in stone thousands of years ago. The ideas hieroglyphs convey are more important than the type of chisel that was used to carve them.
The world is filled with ideas from generations past, transmitted through many mediums, from clay tablets to manuscripts, paintings, sculptures, and tapestries. These artifacts are objects that you can touch, hold, own, store, preserve, and look at. To read something written on paper all you need is eyeballs.
Today, we are creating innumerable digital artifacts, but most of these artifacts are out of our control. They are stored on servers, in databases, gated behind an internet connection, and login to a cloud service. Even the files on your hard drive use proprietary formats that make them incompatible with older systems.
Paraphrasing something I wrote recently:
> If you want your writing to still be readable on a computer from the 2060s or 2160s, it’s important that your notes can be read on a computer from the 1960s.
You should want the files you create to be durable, not only for posterity, but also for your future self. You never know when you might want to go back to something you created years or decades ago. Don’t lock your data into a format you can’t retrieve.
These days I write using an app I help make called Obsidian (

), but it’s a delusion to think it will last forever. The app will eventually become obsolete. It’s the plain text files I create that are designed to last. Who knows if anyone will want to read them besides me, but future me is enough of an audience to make it worthwhile
