ah, ok, i heard this story before where an exchange was running trade for these "crypto kitty" things and one day i had my entire trading balance wiped out because of that being vulnerable
i work at a fiat mine where they are chasing grants and contracts with shitcoiners and i'm so sick of the charade, every other week you hear about yet another hack, yet another blockchain going offline due to bugs, so it gives me ZERO confidence that megalithic is serious about keeping their mission critical channels functioning
and here we are
probably because they are spending more money on devs and ops to do that bullshit and not on what i'm concerned about them maintaining and probably they are making plenty of money to actually pay for those channels, it's just incompetence, as well as shitcoinery, and i'm never connecting to their nodes again

Well, the good news about Lightning is that every self-hosted Lightning wallet comes with an on-chain wallet, so everyone who uses it has both. You just have to DM them and ask for an address, or something. That workflow could be more automated over Nostr or over Alby Hub or something.
Lightning is still the better-choice for anything under 10k sats, IMO, because of speed and fees.

The idea comes from Brazilian protests, where people wrapped themselves in the national flag to deter police attacks, since profaning it is a crime. In the US, a Capitol flag carries strong symbolic weight — vandals might hesitate to destroy it, fearing bigger consequences. Courts could see the symbolism as an aggravant, increasing vandalism penalties. It’d be a unique ‘Patriotic Package’ for customers!"

Okay, revamped the test-data generator for #Alexandria, yesterday. This probably makes it harder to use, but much more versatile. Instead of adding the three arguments on the command line, it now has a settings.yml file, where you can set as many parameters and tags as you want.
I'm not releasing it, yet, as I need to refactor it and add a couple other features, but you can try it out.
I also stabilized the printing, a bit, which is important for large documents. I used the opportunity to test the tagged version by publishing the entire "Aesop's Fables" with full metadata, and I included the pictures, this time. It was 240 section events, and it didn't break off, so that seems to have helped.
I'm going to next make it more performant by producing and signing all the events, at once, and then publishing them to the relay, one after the other. That also makes it more compatible with the HTTP API, which is also on my todo list.

They don't sell your info, but they do share it with the corporate brand office who then does all sorts of things with that information. I worked at Toyota for a while and the dealerships would collect the data, send it on to the corporate office, and the corporate office would share it with their "partners" (other car related businesses who had some tenuous relationship with the brand). Because of whatever contractual relationship they had with these other businesses, the brand could get around the pledge not to sell your info to 3rd parties. It was shady AF.
