most systems are mutable. mutating the system can get it into a bad state, preventing it from booting or breaking software. this can't really happen on nixos. /nix is an immutable read-only partition and every dynamic lib dependency is explicitly symlinked into the content-addressable /nix store

i think that this is the headwind that #bitcoin is currently facing, governments are using it to shore up their balance sheets, when shitcoins go down, people cash out, or at best they sell bitcoin to shore up their balance sheets
the fact that gold is going up though is bullish for bitcoin in the medium term, some number of the goldbugs are gonna dump their yellow metal for the orange coin, and i don't think we have seen the end of this gold rush by far, because if trump reshores industry that means they have to export and keep the dollar down which means that everyone else will be dumping dollars to buy something else... which is also going to mean bitcoin, probably, after gold and then silver
there's a circular logic to all of this but the most strong sign is that if the dollar stops being a reserve asset, then what else could step up to take its place, other than gold, but bitcoin
bitcoin is inflating slower than gold is, so it's inevitable

Meditation is key … but not necessarily the sitting kind.
Light intentional movement (or even a comfortable lie down) provides an excellent opportunity to deepen internal focus in understanding the problem area.
Sounds weird, but I do this all the time. Not right after injury, during the hot phase, but during the healing phase and even long term, if healing has stalled. Body awareness is absolutely key … and time for “meditation” is what gets us there.

But one could design it better. Lets say we buy the idea we need an inflationary currency (I don't, but just for arguments sake), I would design a provably fair lottery system that draws a random individual per week that receives x amount of currency, inflating the supply at some accapted rate. That would be a much less toxix design.
The toxicity of the current system derives from the hidden nature of it, the sneakiness, the evil, the warmongers that control it... It it was more open and algorithmic it wouldn't be nearly as bad.

It's true, most other monies had some other purpose and people found value in them as money. But Bitcoin skipped that step and was purpose built as money.
And if you leave the door open to other use cases the shitcoiner and banking rats start to flood in to try and disrupt and destroy it. So yeah, we closed that door, and then this loony guy from the military looked like he was trying to open it again. I think what he got was the prudent response of GFY from people who'd seen that movie before. Not to mention the knee jerk response from libertarians who just irrationally hate violence.
But I think in his case it is different, because when you apply Power Projection Theory, which is actually the main body of his thesis, to Bitcoin, I started to see the underlying reasons for why Bitcoiners do the things they do to defend the network very clearly, and how they can do it better. And you don't get that laid out so clearly anywhere else.

All wines has sulfites. The occur naturally.
They're also extremely over used in some wines. Lots of people blame them for headaches, but I think they are more the poster child and get blamed because it's what people know.
High sulfite wine has a ton of other additives as well and any of those 73 ingredients that don't have to be listed on a imwine label could be giving you a headache

Interesting note: the potential DoJ vs Google settlement includes Google Play Store and Google Play Services, and all of their dependencies, in the definition of "Android".
So, if Google had to sell Android, it would have to sell the Play Store and Play Services together with it. That is way bigger of a sale than what I thought it would be.
I wonder if this creates a precedent for further litigation involving "Android" that it shouldn't just include the OS itself, but all the services that Google attaches to it.
