having fun at the fiatmine today
i sorta had an inkling there was something missing from the workflow of my colleagues building the smart contracts, middleware data cache index server and front end that i am now literally having to fill a gap for
they don't have a mock data generator scheme for their index to enable testing the stuff in between the front end and the middleware index database cache
i already had written mock stuff, because i can't be testing any kind of credible statistical analysis algorithm without a large quantity of data, both to test the algorithm and to evaluate its meeting the requirements it has
it's dead boring work, making mocks, and there is a bit of a twinge of a perception that i'm not working fast enough at doing the job, and i think the thing is they literally don't realise that i don't have data to build my big data analysis code for
i've dropped this information into the dev chat about this, specifically that i have to build a mock to simulate a live system to make sure that my sync to the database is adequate
so, i think that's gonna be a point i'm gonna nudge at any time i have incidents like what the CTO did a few weeks back, complaining about how i am not working fast enough... i'll just say "there was no testing framework to mock a running system and i have to build that as well"
it's boring tho, lol, man this is boring, it's so much more interesting building things that barely have to be online and referred to in my profile and bam i have 50 users pushing data to my relay, means i can test it in the wild and avoid a lot of this tedium

now, don't confuse what i'm saying with the statement that "Christianity is authoritarian" because it's not, and even through the distortions created by both catholic and protestant religions cosy relationships with governments, the message still shines through, and to circle back to the original point, what Frederick Nietsche was protesting against was this, so he was inclining towards rejecting the whole thing altogether.
The word Christ and Messiah, and even the word Buddha means a person who is wise in the ways of God, and through the people who were given this title, a bulwark of defense against evil was maintained and cultivated, and especially in places far from the centers of government, which parasites off business (ie, mercantilism, aka fascism) its true nature is more visible.
one of the important things about this Way of God is that it is individualistic, every person matters, that's why stuff like Maundy Thursday, the constant use of the word "fellowship" and the fact that outside of the baleful influence of governments and their mercenaries, society is glued together by the Church. I also believe to a large extent that Buddhism and Taoism were the asian forms of this, since they have a different culture and temperament, their forms of the Way have a different, more poetic or philosophical grounding, and especially Taoists don't even project this to a person, it is a pure concept, the Tao is their understanding of what God is.
i strongly disagree that there is any functional difference between the pure meaning and intent and even the words are the same, Taoism means following the Way, and the Way is one of the titles of Jesus and it's intended to mean that if you follow what they taught, it is the same, you are one of the Elect and ... well anyway, i'm kinda rambling on a bit now
the point is that individualism is central to the Way, it is literally a set of guidelines about how you become a better person and improve the world around you. and i do believe there is a life after this one and that due to various artifacts of history and the very ancient cultures that first discovered this wisdom, that there is indeed resurrection and a second, practically speaking eternal life to come.

I am indebted to Ken Wheeler for his explanation and teachings. He figured it out from people like Dollard, Tesla, Steinmetz, etc. and puts it together very well.
The disconnect is conventional science fails to explain specifically *what* magnetism and fields are. It doesn't define them at all. Feynman couldn't explain it. Once they discarded the aether from their model, they went in the wrong direction and thats why they have a bunch of convoluted theories which are nonspecific and stupidly complicated. Virtual particles that don't exist, like quarks, antiquarks, neutrinos, fermions, gravitons and all sorts of crazy things.
There are only two viable models that have ever been proposed, one is atomism and relatively based, the other is based on an aether. It takes a bit of unlearning and relearning, but it is way more complete, coherent and specific.
Since people were taught to believe the aether was debunked, they will never be able to understand the nature of things without it. But it's slowly coming back due to the dire state of conventional physics, which suggests things like zero point energy aren't possible, when they very obviously are (once it is understood using this model).

I had a public relay in mind. But I am glad you pointed out the specific community relay, I was thinking about how to set this up, but from the way a user mostly interacts with nostr (lets say amethyst, primal, damus) there is no obvious way to define "this note is only for relay xyz", unless you wipe out the relay list, only add the one community relay you want to post to, create the note, then add all your relays back again.
So from my perspective all relays in the end become general relays at some point, since people just have all of them set in their client. So in the end relays are more of a redundancy setup (you post to more of them if one goes down) then a content specific setup. Or am I missing something here?
Unless you have seperate npubs with different relays set up. But most users will want to have one npub across the board probably...
But yeah, my original question was if public relays are needed, since there is plenty of them out there. I will always run a personal relay and I am currently in the process of setting up a wot relay. So is there a need for more public relays really at this point?

When I was young I did not understand the Christian religion and looked down on it, but the older I get the more I understand and respect it.
It's not about believing in the Catholic church of the pope which is a corrupt institution, it's about respecting your culture, because whether you like it or not your culture is Christianity.
On the other hand, there is no teaching of Jesus that is harmful, on the contrary, whether you believe that Jesus is the son of God or not, no doubt he was a great philosopher and a great rebel who fought against the established power, I have no doubt that Jesus would be a Bitcoiner.

No dissent in parliament to the nationalisation of British Steel just shows there is no hope for politicians. When pressed they will always prefer the easy route of being seen to "do something" rather than have the courage to stand for a principle. Shame of the Conservatives, and especially Reform who actually led the charge. More taxpayer money to be thrown away during a budget crisis.
