Well, here we go, Nostard Wondrej is turning 24.
First of all, I have no idea what kind of video my iPhone decided to drop on me—I have to share it with you, even though my forehead looks like a tank, because it honestly cracked me up 🤣🤣.
Second, why does the phrase “I’m twenty-four” sound so terrifying? Duck it, I’m just gonna say I’m twenty.
And lastly, the realization that next year it’ll be a quarter of a century since I’ve been alive, and I still don’t own a whole Bitcoin, is downright horrifying.
I have no idea what I’m gonna do when I’ll be 30 🤣.

yeah, i think that they just probably thought that distributed document management was too far from their core targets, even if it potentially monetizes the protocol development to date by providing a toolkit for contractors to deliver this to businesses that need document management (or indeed clubs or charities that host and deliver public domain material)
the git stuff is probably directly adjacent, and they understood that, but ... well... i guess if you guys get a good toolchain together you'll most likely find customers directly and start to reap the rewards
i figure on the same strategy, i do the shitcoin social media paid gig, and keep chipping away at this instant messaging stuff and related tech it needs, and when i get it working, i already have someone to approach and say "xmpp is bad, mkay" and say "here's what we can use instead" and show them a fully working post-MVP native/web chat interface and they pay me to integrate it 😁

i think the thing is that the customers also don't want the funds quickly disbursed, just transparently, i think the donors understand that there is really no rush for the sats to be given to projects without careful consideration
has to be open source, has to be bitcoin or nostr related, and the developers have to have built some reputation to be credible donees.
it's actually a really good system, when you think about it, just maybe the board members aren't enough devs to really understand enough about who they are giving it to and how - as you correctly point out, so many of the projects are a scattershot of barely done MVP prototypes, i'd call them "barely viable" in most cases, once they hit that target everyone starts breathing again and forgets what was so important

The internet needs to maintain anonymity, and vagueness, once things can be traced back to its source then things can be essentially Censored more practically, as people who generate content are threats to the system.
But people who replicate content are simply relays, few produce original content.
Watermarked original content that goes against the system will be tracked down, and removed from the website, the internet, or from existence.
IPs and all that.
I've considered ideas like that for years but once I watched the video above, it made more sense to not have additional Metadata, even if it's risks the content being lost to time.

They have no incentive at all, to spend any money, so long as people keep donating to the fund. The donors are the customers and they will only act if the customers complain.
As far as I know, the customers don't care if they disperse the funds quickly and transparently, or not. So, they don't.

Only people who are generating returns on investments, have an economic incentive to actively invest more money and effort, as they can reinvest some or all of the returns, without eating away at the principle. Bitcoin financing discourages this, as it is nearly impossible to find investments that can reliably return more (in purchasing power) than Bitcoin.
If they are not generating returns, there is no profit motive and they will only invest enough to not upset the donors, and force people to jump over hoops for the money.
For-profit companies will actively go out and seek investment opportunities and they have an incentive to make those investments profitable. That is why profit is essential to sustainably growing a market.
