Yes, it is a good idea. But where is that comparison to be made? I wrote many explanations of what Nostr is in many places of the internet, and many other people also did pretty good ones. Is anyone reading them? Apparently not. There are many videos and interviews published in many places that explain what Nostr is in a very compelling and correct way. Who is watching them?

It's a Linux VM on your phone. How Google will integrate the GUI aspect I'm not sure, it's not available yet. This is experimental at the moment, but gives you a full Linux environment atop a hypervisor.

I have feelings about the data collection too. I was having a chronic health issue I could not figure out so I caved. Now I know what the issue is thanks to the data from my ring. It is something I'm stuck with and the ring helps me manage it too.

That is possible with termux already, but it is limited, and requires applications to be recompiled for it. This is still very beta, but will let you run a full fat Linux VM. Looking forward to this, hopefully on Android 16 it will be more stable 👍

For any “meaningful” duration I strongly disagree with 1-3 … and bitcoin makes 5 obsolete because bonds won’t be generating 30%+ annual coupon rates. Bitcoin *replaces* bonds.
The only useful “bitcoin bond” duration would be less than 4-years to manage “short-term” volatility. And most bond buyers doing any volume are not max bidding short-duration paper. And those with a mandate to “buy bonds” aren’t touching bitcoin-backed bonds right now and by the time they get their mandates, bitcoin is already gonna have disrupted bond markets.

Nodestrich was started in January 2023 by myself and nostr:npub1rcr8h76csgzhdhea4a7tq5w5gydcpg9clgf0cffu6z45rnc6yp5sj7cfuz as a way to find as many existing and aspiring noderunners as possible. It actually predates zapping on nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 and many other clients!
The goal was to help more users learn how to use bitcoin and Lightning self-custodially. We saw how many people were using nostr:npub1hcwcj72tlyk7thtyc8nq763vwrq5p2avnyeyrrlwxrzuvdl7j3usj4h9rq, and knew that would end badly for a lot of people. It did, when they left the United States less than a year later.
Two years on, it's grown to over 275 nodes (it was once a bit higher, but nostr:npub19tcpurtt6xulhw0r6sc404j9jraj0h8me2lzs7z2tqewz7l0hpas59nlea purged the inactive ones) and we're now the third largest community listed there.

So I went through a spree of buying mini PCs a while back. Generally one was an upgrade the the previous for my nodes. Now my node is running nostr:nprofile1qqs9df4h2deu3aae83fmet5xmrlm4w5l9gdnsy3q2n7dklem7ezmwfcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsz3rhwvaz7tekd3jks6rev3ehyargv9nk66tnxe6h2dn5w43kuerk0fmnwcm4vfc8z6mgweu8j7fhdfhkjmmrxs6k66mnwg6x2cty9ehku6t0dchsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ehx7um5wghxjmnxduhs5nd6j2 on acceptable hardware, my ThinkCentre is running nostr:nprofile1qqsw5t3us9xs3gmclzjm37hvk2yy6pv9t96utjjttsj794hexc5x79qpzdmhxue69uhhwmm59e6hg7r09ehkuef092q0zz for general home server needs, and I have another running my #Haven relay. Now I am trying to determine the best use for a NUC with a 4 TB SSD. Using it to back everything else up comes to mind and I know I can do this with Start9, but not sure about the others.
So, what would you use it for?

It's a bit buggy as of yet. After a restart I had to wipe the vm, something went wrong.

Giftcards for Christmas are pretty good sometimes, but other times you're better off buying gift cards at Costco and stacking sats with the difference.
I dislike the wheel. It's just my own thing. I know I'm wierd.
I don't shop much aside from groceries and I don't understand the value of the $10 membership yet. I also think the debit rewards are more complex than coupon clipping so I stopped using it.
The 2% cash back is better than any of my other credit cards though. That's huge. I can deal with the extra friction for 2% rewards. I hope it's Visa so I can shop at Costco.
