Haven't heard from Mill in ages. Are they still around?
As for AMD, I’m still a huge fan of their GPUs. But truth be told, even back in 2022, an M1 Max chip was already running circles around my 5955WX for several of my use cases… and it was doing it on a laptop… using battery power… and consuming so little energy that the battery actually lasted for an entire workday. I won't even bother comparing it to the M3 Max.
Meanwhile, my workstation guzzles energy even at idle. Sure, it scored impressive benchmark results at the time, and it’s an awesome CPU for transcoding and running containers, but unless something changes substantially, I’m not dropping another couple of grand to upgrade to yet another x86-64 workstation anytime soon.
If I were gaming on Windows, maybe I’d fork out for a Ryzen X3D. But for laptops, workstations, and mini PCs, I’m planning to go all-in on ARM + RISC-V.

弱化美国文化，削弱的，是文明2.0的自维持能力。
当产业链阵营开始盘整自身，当社会感受到安全威胁和存在危机，本能的开始强化自身的自维持能力时，社会将反思自己对不同文化的态度。
不需要任何理论的指引，美国原生文化，就会变得更强势。
不仅在美国本土变得更强势，也会在世界范围内，在所有希望与美国保持合作关系的国家里，变得比过去更强势。
正因为文化实际上是人生剧本的集合，是每个社会代代传承的，告诉人们要如何扮演自身角色的指引，当争取和美国合作的人们需要找到，并扮演好美国希望他们扮演的角色时，他们就要从美国文化信息库里“查询资料”。当身在美国的人们需要让繁荣模式回到正轨，需要让自己更清楚作为繁荣社会的一员该如何行事时，他们也就会寻求繁荣文化的指引——寻求曾让美国成为美国的独特文化传统的指引，寻求告诉美国人该如何扮演家庭角色，如何扮演社会角色的人生剧本的指引。
现在，还很少有人意识到，文化和社会大众行为模式之间的关联，文化对一个社会自维持能力的影响。
但这关联是真实存在的。
文化既是社会自维持的工具，也是能用来改变社会大众行为模式的工具。
因为文化真正的内核，真正有力量的部分，并不是饮食习惯和传统服饰，而是在一个社会里，关于父如何为父，子如何为子，夫如何为夫，妻如何为妻的家庭观念集合，和在一个社会里，主如何为主，仆如何为仆，一个人该怎样成就自我，怎样对待他人，怎样确认自身定位的社交观念集合。
文化，是构建社区的源代码。
我们知道中共国的党文化是什么样子的，董志民式的家庭结构和相处模式，就是党天下的源代码。在文革中，夫妻反目父子相残，至亲之间互相举报划清界限，酿成一桩桩人伦惨剧，就是党国写入“中国人社区”的源代码。
这流毒沿袭至今，广传海外。
中共党文化，是典型的伤害链文化。
与之针锋相对的，则是美国文化，典型的产业链文化。
是重视家庭价值的文化观念，是尊重合作各方利益立场的文化观念，是企业老板要为员工留出私人空间、照顾家人的时间，发足能养家糊口薪水的文化观念，是为人父母要尊重子女的意愿，一家人要维护彼此人格尊严的文化观念。
是糅合了清教传统和北美大陆先民们在早期拓荒生活里形成的独特风俗的文化。
是让美国社会大众知道该怎样在一块没有国王的土地上，和至爱亲朋相濡以沫，携手共建家园的文化，是既能从基督教那里找到源流，也包含着自独立宣言之后美利坚民族每一次对自身命运的抉择带来的巨大影响的文化。
是属于拒绝内卷内斗内耗的族群的独特文化。
这样的文化，是美国社区的源代码。

我深深相信，双链争持，会以产业链的胜利为结局。
所以，在代码层面的争战，会以产业链文化的胜利为结局。
因为全世界所有希望和美国合作的国家、民族，都会试着去理解美国，通过了解美国文化来寻找加入以美国为首的利益共同体的“接入口”，通过了解美国文化来研究清楚该怎样维持和美国的关系。
在这个过程中，他们会受到美式文化的影响，他们会受到美式人生观价值观世界观的影响，他们会受到美式人生剧本的影响，会参考美国人对家庭角色、社会角色的看法，修正自己在扮演家庭角色、社会角色的行为模式——如果这样的修正会带来正向的结果。
而这样的修正，确实会带来正向的结果。
在家庭中、在社区里，在合作关系中拒绝内卷内斗内耗的行为模式，会为每个选择它的现代人带来正向的结果。
因为现代科技已经让人们不虞匮乏。
这一次的阵营盘整，在我看来，结果会是产业链阵营变得更加稳固，然后向更大范围扩张。
在双链争持的大势中，那些半心半意的合作者，将被迫“选边站”，选择了产业链阵营的国家和民族，将需要对战友们证明自己对阵营的忠诚，为此，他们需要展现对产业链文化的认同。
此时，在阵营自维持的需求趋于旺盛之际，社会将为本阵营文化产品的创作和消费提供条件。
人们会开始反思，何为文化，哪些是现代人应当认同的文化观念，哪些则相反。
社会将开始反思，要如何有意识地维持自己，传承被证明过更有价值的行为模式。
而这会带来一轮属于文化的春天。

I'm on the same boat. My expensive and already deprecated Threadripper is eventually going to get replaced by either a RISC-V CPU (if a good implementation comes to market) or by Aarch64. Asahi Linux is already running pretty well on Apple hardware. I can wait to have a box with a top notch CPU and a beefy dedicated graphics card

My guess is when they were putting on the top, the guys must have pushed down on the visors and caused the retention clips inside the housing to break. The issue is that they didnt even tell me. They tried to hide the fact that they were broken by pushing them back up in the housing. Luckily, I am anal about things and went through everything before leaving the dealer. But, they told me that they didnt know if they were broken before or after (right, they were NOT broken). BTW, not the only thing they did wrong. The wiper on the back window of the new top didnt work, they left zip ties un-trimmed on wiring harnesses, they didnt re-attach my antenna, and more.
