Bitcoin txs decreasing, blocks getting empty, those bitcoin transactions are moving somewhere and we see it's not on LN as this real world ecommerce data shows, meanwhile Monero transactions increasing, highest volume across merchants, exchanges and swappers, fees still low, everyone still unaffected
Who's the winning design here? I only noticed we've been going up (for all its history non stop) after checking this chart, you could go your whole life without noticing the XMR chain's activity no matter how much it increases

I don't see it as a "give away your coins" or "pick what's better to use and throw it away" like fiat, since the users in those markets are given the option of paying in any other crypto, they could be using Litecoin which is even in most mainstream exchanges and has easier access for all, and it also has "mweb" as a privacy feature, they could be using USDT on the Tron network, which is also common in those places like Argentina, so the question becomes: where is everyone getting their Monero from? and why using it exclusively?
But again if this is good or bad is indeed a different debate this is mostly because I've seen bitcoiners say LN is private because you can't tell how many payments are happening, and real world usage data show exactly that: how much it is being used for real world commerce, where money actually is worth and traded instead of being used for micro-cent tipping or sending back to yourself back and forth for no purpose

During Lincoln's rule even abolitionists in the north opposed the war. These people were literally tarred and feathered.
We can recognize the positive change without deifying Lincoln. That's the point. Just as we can celebrate positive changes today without excusing the behavior of the current clown in chief.
So what is so bad about Lincoln?

No question but he's no idol and our culture in the US treats him as an idol. Even those that oppose many things he is responsible for creating. He's just off limits for criticism. Why?

XMR users can shop anywhere using an instant swap exchange where they send XMR and the other end receives another coin, this is just a pattern that keeps repeating, the whole crypto and even bitcoin itself is still a niche in the clearnet unless you live in El Salvador so always that a new merchants appears the data is always similar with XMR at the top
plus more merchants would actually increase it even further since the current XMR users would have more places to shop, and new users could learn about XMR and have plenty of options to use it

A idéia era vc postar um conteúdo critografado, e a pessoa pagar para ter acesso a chave de criptografia do conteúdo. Só que não consegui pensar numa forma descentralizada de fornecer essa chave.
Na verdade não precisa ser a chave, pode ser um smartcontract ou algum recurso em blockchain que descriptografa pra vc, ou gera um novo evento "gift wrapped" pra vc, mas precisava de ser algo que não dependesse de confiar em um servidor.
Alguma idéia de como implementar isso?

to mod it to my heart's content! And even if I go crazy with mods (Titanium + Steel body / Sapphire glass), it'll still cost only about 1/5 of a top-end Samsung or Apple smartwatch!

Easy: I got the shit kicked out of me and had all my money stolen at a pivotal time in life. I was maybe 12 or 13. I had $300 saved up and it was my intention to use savings to get out of a shitty situation and make it to college.
Losing that money was a tough pill to swallow. Fast forward 20+ years and I read a slashdot article on Bitcoin. And then immediately I read the white paper, which is rather informal and easy to read compared to my undergrad training in astrophysics and math. I was running Bitcoin software within minutes. Only learned I had to select generate from a menu like a day or so later (the burden of being busy is that stupid things happen frequently).
It was a desire to provide a safe place for others to store money that can’t be stolen that lead me to mine. I was fortunate to have the right technical background to understand how bitcoin could work but not so much education so as to see ways that it might not work…Goldilocks zone for heart and head education pre-bitcoin.

文化，是一个族群沿用的人生剧本的集合，是对该如何在这个族群内部扮演家庭角色、社会角色的指引，也是每一代人对自己选择的生活方式、行为策略的总结和辩护。
当你静心比较不同文化的差异，你会看到，除了饮食服饰、婚俗礼俗中那些能被轻易看到的不同，更深层次的不同，会呈现在人们对“应该怎样做人”的看法里，会呈现在人与人相处时，哪些行为可以被接受，哪些行为绝不能容忍的看法里。
在中共精心构建的党文化里，面对政治冲击，和亲人“划清界限”是可以被接受的，背叛曾经的朋友，举报亲生母亲，殴打老师、校长致死，是可以被接受的。
用种族灭绝的残暴手段对待所谓的“同胞”，无视维吾尔人的悲苦，无视藏人一场又一场的自焚，对香港人台湾人高喊“留岛不留人”，是可以被接受甚至得到鼓励的。
为了“政治任务”，为了服从命令，党员牺牲与家人相处的时间，耽误孩子的病情，错过与垂死亲人见最后一面的机会，是能让官方媒体正面宣传的。
但和党作对是绝不可容忍的。
这种党文化，这种人应该唯上级之命是从的观念，这种无伤害链狂信徒之名却有伤害链狂信徒之实的观念体系，就是中共构建其社区的源代码。
但中共党文化，只是无数种包含伤害链逻辑成分的文化中较为极端也较容易被看穿的一种。
还有很多国家、很多族群，不曾意识到自身文化传统中的伤害链成分。
例如普遍把丈夫殴打妻子看成可接受的行为的文化传统，例如把父母包办婚姻、虐待儿女视为其正当权利的文化传统。
你可以看到，在这些社区里，当人们做出了这类为现代文明观念不容的举动后，他们会辩解说，“这就是我们的文化”。
尤其是，那些虽然没有亲自去做，但容忍这类行为，事后和做过这类行为的人仍然保持密切交往，仍然让这类人得到社会支持的“无辜者”，他们会辩解说，我们认为这些行为是可以接受的是因为这就是我们的文化。
是的，在他们的观念体系里，人，就应该做这样的人，做输出伤害后能获得奖赏的人，或者说，是在输出伤害后至少不必受惩罚的人。
在他们的文化里，人们可以为伤害妇孺的行径，在另一种文化里不可容忍的行径辩护，并且把成为这样的人，成为伤害者，视为可以传递给下一代的人生剧本，让这样的行径在其族群中代代延续。
如果这样的观念不受挑战，这样的剧本不被修改，这样的文化传统不在现代人的生活场景中得到合情合理的调整改变，这样的行径就会真的代代延续，孩子们就会一直被他们的原生家庭，被他们生于斯长于斯的社区，培养成这样的人。
当你真的看清文化是什么，当你意识到，中共党文化是当局为自己精心写就的辩护词，也是中共驯化出的党奴们为自己的人生选择，那些举报亲人、背叛朋友、卑鄙残暴的行径作出的辩护，更是他们培养下一代的蓝本，你就会同意，不想成为这类人的年轻一代，按现代文明理念，有拒绝这种文化传承的权利。
有在过年的时候任父母指着鼻子从年前骂到年后，消极抵抗的权利。
有面对催婚催育崩溃掀桌子的权利。
有因为从小看多了爸爸虐打妈妈的场景选择这辈子单身的权利。
更具普适性的是，有在社会上增广了见闻，知道了人还可以有其他活法之后，选择一种和父母期望不同的生活方式，成为更能适应自己工作场景中由产业链逻辑主导的游戏规则的人的权利。
在无数国家，家庭，都曾是伤害链逻辑最后也最顽固的堡垒，文化，则是伤害链逻辑最强有力的辩护士。
但当年轻人发现了不同的生活方式，当年轻人得到了不同的谋生方式，当他们在自己的生活里受到了产业链逻辑的影响，携带着这份影响回到家庭，这最后的堡垒也就有了裂隙。
因为文化，是每一代人对自己选择的生活方式、行为策略的辩护，是每一代人而不仅仅是上一代人。
所以当年轻人在自己的生活里，为了谋生，为了适应职场，选择了属于自己这代人的生活方式和行为策略，他们也会为自己辩护，而他们的辩护，就是新一代文化观念的生成基础。
在名为代沟的战壕里，他们为自己而战。
当产业链逻辑用看得见摸得着的利益说服了他们，用工作岗位用薪水说服了他们，用减少内耗后更轻松舒适的生活体验说服了他们，他们就会由伤害链文化的传承者，转为产业链文化的创建者。
年轻人，想成为更自由的人，成为更能彼此相爱的人，而不是以顺从为美，以牺牲为尚的人。
