Segundo ele, antes de 1600 os europeus tomavam cerveja e vinho como principal fonte de hidratação (agua na epoca era vetor de transmissão de doença, então vc tomava agua misturada com alguma bebida alcoolica pra poder desinfetar). Quando o chá e o café foram introduzidos na europa, os europeus trocaram o alcool pela fervura como forma de desinfetar a agua. E com isso a população passou de babada para "on steroids" do dia pra noite. A produtividade do trabalho, principalmente o intelectual, disparou!
