1.美国为首的西方國家早就对俄罗斯实施了大量制裁，但完全无效。从实际效果来看，俄罗斯经济并未像预期那样崩溃，反而在战争期间通过高油价和其他替代市场实现了经济的相对稳定甚至一定程度的恢复。除非美国亲自参战（这是不可能的，我们美国纳税人一定反对）继续加码制裁的空间有限，因此只能向乌克兰施压，逼泽连斯基或其他愿意谈判的乌克兰领导坐到谈判桌边（实际上除了泽连斯基，很多重要的乌克兰官员都支持尽早谈判，结束战争）
2.欧洲至今仍未真正对俄罗斯实施彻底有效的经济施压，反而持续通过直接和第三国转口的方式大量购买俄罗斯能源，总金额甚至超过了对乌克兰的援助。这种两面同时供血的愚蠢方式除了制造绞肉机，让更多士兵死在前线，毫无意义。
3.拜登政府的能源政策推高了全球油价，实际上为俄罗斯提供了更多经济支持；而川普的能源政策则压低国际油价，能直接打击了俄罗斯的经济来源。
4.泽连斯基的政敌，乌克兰前总统顾问阿列斯托维奇（Oleksiy Arestovych），他早就公开表示乌克兰很难靠军事手段完全战胜俄罗斯，而应谋求现实的谈判，泽连斯基有听吗？不仅不听，还把和他不同意见的人通过诉讼，拘留，没收财产的方式让他们闭嘴。结果呢？战场今天的残酷现实证明了异议人士们的判断。
因此，目前美国能产生实际效果的压力主要作用于乌克兰，这并非偏袒俄罗斯，只是现实的不得已选择。
