Having dug around a little more, your domain method is quite elegant. If not domains then I can't think of what else.
Feels like we need NIP5.1 identifiers, which can be multiple and denote a user's community affiliation (keeping the 5.0 for verification in a general sense, though a 5.0 can double up as a 5.1).

Nostr can do truly decentralized, but it's specialty is arguably distributed. So, overlapping pools of centralization, that npubs can travel through, or hop over.

I'd argue ATProto lexicons are more decentralised than Nostr NIPS. If you zoom out it's a different story—but just zooming in to that one specific aspect then that's how it seems.

Here's the thing: I think Christians who have matured continue to have different talents and they live out their faith with different sets of works.
I have a talent for creating welcoming, inviting spaces, online and offline, so that's what I focus on, by being a sextant and running the parish website. I also have a talent for being a systems analyst, so that's also what I put my focus on. That's why I'm concentrating on digitizing and distributing the Bible on an uncensorable data storage system on Nostr, and making it readable over an open-source interface on git, so that everyone, everywhere can get hold of a copy, read it, and share it with their frens, and jump into the Bible study section and tell me everything I'm saying that is wrong. 😁
The Bible is not the project, but it was the impetus for the project and probably a big factor in the longevity of the project because building the first three minor releases of Alexandria and then spinning it off into #Biblestr is something that really motivates because it feels like building a digital cathedral.
I don't find it perturbing that people think my personal theological views are wrong. I've spent decades thinking them through and researching them, as have those defending the counter-argument. I find it perturbing that they think that they mean that I'm not a Christian. Because I think it's obvious that I'm Christian, otherwise my behavior makes no sense, at all.

100% agree. Relays are a fundamental part of how Nostr works, but most folks really don't care to have to fiddle with them for things to just behave as they expect them to.
Think about it this way. The above issue is like saving a file to your Downloads folder, then going to look for it in your Documents folder, and wondering why it isn't there.

I know it's just nostr. Primal is definitely a walled garden.
Forcing someone to automatically follow certain accounts after their sign-up isn't a good approach, because a genuine freedom of speech protocol would allow users to customize their own feed from the start. Most people clearly have some unhealthy social media addiction, so, of course they'll follow someone with 25k followers🙄.

As Nostr grows so will the community that builds it. I joined Nostr a year ago and months later nostr:npub1pmhevxtlt3478pvmdqt7dftnv6zc2mzpdc569yjm6ks4k2jhezcs53uksr and I start working on #nextblock. Because I pushed for it.
We think we're building a great social media experience that anyone would enjoy and the benefits of Nostr will be the bonus feature.
The painpoints of Twitter you listed are the same on any legacy social media. And Bitcoiners have been divided from the rest of society because of legacy social media blocking information. We should be working to bring different experiences for the masses. To free us all.

I finally was able to sign Olas events with Amber today, properly; via NIP-55. It won’t be included in the next release as the next one is focused on much better wallet and connectivity improvements; but the one after that will be 100% about Amber. Both should be out before Thursday.

I get that. We do have some devs who are very much against the official Google PlayStore (for good reason), which means you simply may never be able to use their apps unless you are willing to step outside of that comfort zone and either use the Zapstore, or download the apk directly from their GitHub.

Looks like long-form notes do show up in the main feed. I just hadn't noticed, since they are so few and far between compared with kind 1 notes.
I definitely prefer having a separate feed for them, though.
