NASA continues to build the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, recently completing another big milestone. Engineers attached the mission's deployable aperture cover, a sunshade that blocks unwanted light from entering the telescope. This was attached to the outer barrel assembly, which also reduces stray light falling on the instruments and helps maintain a stable temperature. Assembly should be finished in 2026 and launched by May 2027.
