Ok, after living with my new error definition crate for a bit, I'm seeing all kinds of rough edges that need smoothing. :blobcatscience:
One really neat idea I just implemented is gradually building your error types.
In the beginning, you can start with something like anyhow, with basically YOLO errors.
Then, when you decide you want to have a specific error type be legible to calling code (in the thiserrror style), you can just update your error definition to add that one error type. But you don't have to give up your anyhow-style error-handling to do it. And you don't have to switch dependencies. My new error crate lets you can use both styles at the same time! And you can freely mix and match the two in the same error definition!
So, as you build your crate, you can refine your error definitions as much as you like. Start simple like anyhow, end up explicit like thiserror (but without a huge refactor in the middle). Or not. It's up to you.

Sundays are my day off, and I'm redefining what that means.
I was thinking it meant I would only do fun things, nothing productive, no scheduled events.
But I found myself wondering "what am I supposed to be doing today?" That's the wrong question. Instead, I'm just going to do whatever catches my fancy. That squeaky chair, now's a fine time to lubricate it. #3Dprinting? sure. IT tasks? sure, if I feel like it. Cleaning the garage? Why not?
Still no scheduled event though. I just wander.
So today I modeled and printed several versions of a box lid (this third attempt is going to nail those allowances 🤞).
Worked on some Signet tickets (mostly documentation).
Read some articles in the latest @2600 mag.
Downloaded a pre-release of Qubes 4.3, threw it on the thumb drive and installed it on a test machine.
WD-40ed my desk chair
Installed and tested a UPS for my desktop.
It was just a bunch of random things that seemed like a good idea. It was enjoyable.

It is a little-known fact—so little known that even the Australian government won’t confirm it—that modern Australia is not, in fact, a country in the traditional sense. No, dear reader, Australia is a maritime enterprise, an extended naval operation, a ship of the line that ran aground and decided to call it home.
You see, when the British first sailed into Sydney Cove, they were supposed to leave at some point. That was the plan, wasn’t it? Just a quick stopover to establish some penal settlements, extract a few resources, maybe inconvenience a few Indigenous peoples, and then off they’d go, like good colonizers. But something strange happened: they never actually left.
Instead, they dropped anchor and declared the land to be an extension of the Crown’s naval jurisdiction. Why bother dismantling the ship when you can just run the whole continent like a floating court-martial? Maritime law would do just fine—just tweak it a bit, dress it up as a constitution, and pretend democracy was involved.
A Government Adrift
To this day, you can see the signs of this floating bureaucracy in the way Australia is run. The Prime Minister? More of a captain than a leader—issuing orders from the bridge while the populace scrubs the deck (or applies for Centrelink). Parliament? Just a glorified mess hall where officers squabble over who gets to steer the wheel while the corporate officers—excuse me, "lobbyists"—plot the next trade routes.
And the people? Well, the people are merely the crew—issued arbitrary fines like a sailor getting flogged for sneezing in the direction of an officer, conscripted into endless economic battles they never signed up for, and told to "trust the system" while the ship takes on water.
Turning the Ship Around?
Some dream of turning the ship back to Britain, of hoisting the old Union Jack and sailing home. Others dream of cutting the anchor, of finally letting the old colonial wreck drift into the sunset and declaring true independence. But every time that conversation comes up, someone in a powdered wig appears to remind us that the Queen's (or now the King’s) Admiralty still holds the deed to this fine maritime enterprise.
So, what do we do? Keep swabbing the decks? Mutiny? Or simply keep pretending we’re not on a ship at all and hope no one notices?
One thing is for sure: whether it’s in a harbor or on dry land, the British never truly left. They just renamed the boat "Australia" and kept sailing it from the Governor-General’s office.

He's probably *wrong* though about there being no images like the ones he wants in the training data. I did a quick image search and it's not hard to find the image he wanted. It's just thousands of times less common than a "correctly full" glass. And LLMs are bad at sequential, logical, requests if they don't have examples.
Really it highlights the statistical nature of the responses. The idea of "glass full of wine" is so heavily weighted it can't be overcome.
