An American who wanted to be formally recognised as non-binary in the UK has been told by the Court of Appeal their gender identity does not legally exist in this country.
Ryan Castellucci previously lost a High Court challenge to have their gender recorded as non-binary on a gender recognition certificate - a document which changes someone's legal sex - after moving to the UK in 2019.
They had obtained legal recognition as non-binary in California in 2021, and were issued an American passport in 2022 listing their sex as 'X'.
Dismissing the appeal, external, Lord Justice Singh said the issue was "potentially controversial" and was "better suited to resolution in Parliament than the courts".
At an earlier hearing, the court heard how Castellucci, a cyber security expert from California, uses the title "Mx" and refers to themselves using they/them pronouns.

The Church of England says it is initiating disciplinary proceedings against 10 members of clergy following a review of evidence in the report into the prolific abuser, John Smyth.
Among those facing action are former Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey and Rev Andrew Cornes - who was due to be on the committee picking the next Archbishop of Canterbury.

Justin Welby, who stepped down as Archbishop of Canterbury earlier this year because of the scandal, is among several senior figures not facing action because of "insufficient evidence" for disciplinary proceedings.

This is such a fun app. It's basically Wikipedia, but as a 3D museum and you get to walk from article to article, because the software turns links in to corridors.
This is especially fun for wiki running, as now you can literally run!

Die mittlere graue Schicht ist komplett verhärtetes Geröll. Würde es wohl helfen überall 0,5m tiefe Löcher zu Bohren und mit Quarzsand aufzufüllen damit das Wasser bis nach unten kommt? #Garten

I watched most of the presentation I think. There were upgrades to the 13-in and 16-in notebooks. More power and more AI ability. They are probably suited to the target audience pretty well. I am not a big AI user so I'm not sure how I would even quantify what AI ability I would want in a notebook.
There is also a Framework desktop, which is fine, for the target audience. It's not a mini, but small enough to fit in a backpack.
The website is down under load, so maybe check it out tomorrow.
