If you can believe it, we used custom bit slice processors to act as programmable disk controllers to do all the formats, hard and soft sectoring, for floppy disks of the age. They were essentially all different.
If it's really worth it to you I think you have to find a working kaypro and use a serial connection to transmit the data to a modern machine.

I think there is a significant difference between “the bubble,” which is transparent and protective, and “the echo chamber,” which is opaque and actually harmful to you.
Serious part over, here’s a silly one: in my bubble (as far as I can tell, a pretty big one), James Cameron’s #Avatar movies are not even a blip. And they are HUGE. I don’t feel like watching them, so isn’t a bad thing, but how is that even *a* thing?
