Celia Dale's slow boring take of suburban crime, A Spring of Love (1960/2024), is a delight, but does require some patience in a world of fast & complex pilots. More a time capsule from the 1950s than a crime novel, this remains a great read, where your suspicions are finally gratifyingly fulfilled as the characters slowly reveal themselves. A slow but great book.
