Em 12 meses, o déficit em conta corrente subiu para 3,02% do PIB, de 1,11% do PIB um ano antes, o que representa o pior nível desde junho de 2020.
De acordo com os dados divulgados nesta quinta-feira pelo BC, o Brasil registrou déficit em transações correntes de US$8,655 bilhões em janeiro, depois de saldo negativo de US$4,407 bilhões no mesmo mês de 2024, afetado pela redução do superávit comercial.
A expectativa em pesquisa da Reuters com especialistas era de um saldo negativo de US$8,3 bilhões em janeiro.
Em janeiro, os investimentos diretos no país alcançaram US$6,501 bilhões, contra US$6,55 bilhões projetados na pesquisa e US$9,080 bilhões no mesmo período do ano anterior.
Em 12 meses, o déficit em conta corrente subiu para 3,02% do PIB, de 1,11% do PIB um ano antes, o que representa o pior nível desde junho de 2020.
Ele ainda foi coberto pelos investimentos diretos no país, que ficaram em 3,16% do PIB na mesma base de comparação.
No entanto, o chefe do departamento de estatísticas do Banco Central, Fernando Rocha, disse que olhando à frente é possível que isso não aconteça mais, mesmo que "por um período de tempo", revertendo uma situação "que o Brasil tem vivido há décadas"
