Daily reminder that you should:
1. Hold your own keys
2. Run your own node (including Lightning)
3. Save in bitcoin
4. Spend bitcoin whenever you can
5. Never tell anyone how much bitcoin you have
6. Think of bitcoin as the unit of account
7. If you hold USD you are short bitcoin
8. Use joinmarket/robosats/bisq rather than KYC exchanges (postal money order on bisq is really good)
9. Services like https://rigly.io/ is actually useful to get non KYC coins
10. Don't let anyone convince you that you are wrong.

"why" is an incoherent question. Substitute "how" for your questions above.
"Why" is a human invention, and it's unsurprising that we invented a shoddy concept with some undefined zones. "How/what" are downstream of the laws of nature, and are thus reasonable areas of inquiry.
If you want to ask "why", talk to an artist, fiction writer, priest or politician. But expect opinions, not solutions.
