Venerable Daniel the Hermit, in his cave at Voronet, offered guidance to Prince Stephen the Great. After a pivotal battle where Stephen faced overwhelming odds, Daniel told him to not lose hope because the next battle will be won. He encouraged him to build a monastery dedicated to St. George if he won, as a sign of gratitude to God. Stephen won this next battle, and kept his vow, and built the Voronet Monastery.
