And then people would make decisions based on those descriptions, but of course the problem is that nobody sees the scenario in quite the same way, so there'd be misunderstandings and arguments and I'd say, "Nono, I meant you were THERE, and the door was THERE", and they'd go, "But that's not what you SAID" and and and....
I was afraid using the battle map and physical tokens would slow things down, but because of the aforementioned confusion, it actually sped it up.
