De Nederlandse journalist Sophie van Leeuwen is opgepakt in Sierra Leone. De Afrika-correspondent van RTL werd samen met een lokale journalist gearresteerd bij een politiecheckpoint ten westen van de hoofdstad Freetown.
Van Leeuwen zou zijn meegenomen naar haar logeeradres in Sierre Leone, waar haar spullen zijn doorzocht. "We zijn aan het achterhalen wat exact de verdenking is. We begrijpen dat ze wordt verhoord", meldt RTL-hoofdredacteur Ilse Openneer.
Lokale media melden dat Van Leeuwen wordt verdacht van spionage. Ook had ze volgens de politie niet de juiste papieren om haar werk te doen, zo schrijft The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ).
'Bolle Jos'
RTL schrijft dat Van Leeuwen wel is geaccrediteerd en met toestemming van het lokale gezag verhalen maakt over de zaak rond drugscrimineel Jos L., bijgenaamd 'Bolle Jos'. Woensdag bezocht Van Leeuwen een persconferentie van de minister van Informatie over de zaak.
Eind vorige maand werd bekend dat de Nederlandse drugscrimineel in Sierre Leone verblijft. Hij is in Nederland veroordeeld tot een gevangenisstraf van 24 jaar voor het organiseren van drugstransporten, een gewelddadige beroving en het opdracht geven voor een liquidatie.
Vorige week meldde de politie in Sierra Leone dat er in het land naar L. wordt gezocht. "Maar een echte klopjacht is hier nog niet begonnen", zei Van Leeuwen daarover tegen RTL. "De mensen op straat moeten een beetje lachen als ik ernaar vraag. Zij geloven niet dat hij echt gepakt wordt." RTL schreef vanochtend dat dit volgens Van Leeuwen alles te maken heeft met corruptie in het land.
Of de arrestatie van Van Leeuwen iets te maken heeft met haar verslaggeving over de zaak rond Jos L. is niet bekend. De politie in Sierra Leone zegt tegen SLAJ dat de Nederlandse journalist wordt verhoord en dat later bepaald wordt of er verder onderzoek komt.

When you say no sugar can you define your definition there? No processed sugar or are you including the likes of fruits and honey into your statement?
I would argue that you could eat no sugar and move daily and still be unwell in many ways. Well-being is a much broader way of living than what you’ve shared although I concede that the avoidance of processed sugar and daily movement which includes resistance training will be great cornerstones to a healthy life.

The reaction to Trump's new NIH policy of a maximum 15% overhead generated quite a stir in academia. But only from administrators and their lobbyists. Trump didn't cut the research itself, but the amount universities can charge as "overhead" because professors and students use their facilities. For instance, MIT charges 60% overhead. If you are a professor who got a $1M grant, you only have 400K to spend on your research. The rest pays for the lab location, at market rate, + the university equipment that is being "rented" to the professor. I strongly believe "overhead" costs have been used to enrich university endowments across the nation and have had little impact on the research itself.

I can't see all your replies, but I imagine you've already gotten several suggesting Python instead of BASIC, since it's a modern and easy to learn language.
I'll be a bit more nuanced and suggest you look at some of the Python REPL extensions, which make using Python much like using BASIC back in the day. Forex:
