I have a Splatoon headcanon about water.
I like to imagine they've had suits to deal with the water pressure for decades. Someone like Marina could probably have it done in an hour. Someone could buy one and have it delivered in a week maximum. It's just not worth it.
The suits are expensive to buy or produce, even if it's easy. And even if you get one, the ocean is full of salmon and unspeakable horror. If there is a fault in the suit's creation, or it takes damage while you're down there, there will be nothing left to salvage. And they lose out on their species' main advantage of shapeshifting since the suits can't follow.
Going down there basically just means you die. It is not worth the time, effort and money so nobody does it.
