A fact is a fact regardless of who states it. If I say the sky is blue and some murderer states the sky is blue, this does not mean it is any less true. It also does notmean I support the murderer.

Of course rights are defined by someone else's the context! How else can you differentiate where any violations are coming from?
Why do we say a homeowner's rights are violated when a window is smashed in by a crowbar, but not when that very same crowbar was sold? Why do we say that a kid's rights are violated when a man stomps on the kid's sandcastle, but not when the ocean washes it away? Why is holding a man ransom a violation of their rights when jailing a man until bail is paid isn't?
Not only does my definition of rights answer these questions, but it can also explain when people will disagree about rights violations and why people may change their mind on them.

Pakket met drugsingrediënt in sorteercentrum Alphen aan den Rijn
In een sorteercentrum van PostNL in Alphen aan den Rijn is een pakket met een drugsingrediënt gevonden. De politie onderzoekt nog om wat voor stof het gaat.
Medewerkers van het sorteercentrum in de Zuid-Hollandse gemeente roken vannacht een vreemde geur bij het pakket. Een aantal van hen voelde zich niet lekker worden, schrijft Omroep West.
Ze maakten rond 03.00 uur melding bij de hulpdiensten. Omdat het mogelijk om gevaarlijke stoffen ging, kwamen naast de politie ook de brandweer en een ambulance ter plaatse.
In het pakket bleek een synthetische stof te zitten die wordt gebruikt bij het maken van drugs. Waar het pakket vandaan komt, is niet bekend, laat een politiewoordvoerder weten. Ook is onduidelijk wat de beoogde bestemming was.
Geen van de medewerkers moest naar het ziekenhuis, aldus de woordvoerder.

A CoC basically has two functions:
1. protect your community against trouble from outside
2. protect everybody else from trouble caused by or within your own community
Its baffling how many of them outright ignore the second. Failing at it, I can understand, we do have issues in this regards ourselves and we need to get better there.
But simply ignoring the responsibility? That I can't stand.
