I find comfort in the fact that Mexican civil society found ways to survive and even thrive while existing under an authoritarian one-party regime for the better part of a century. Freedoms were curtailed, social and political activists were persecuted, often disappeared and many killed, yet people kept organizing and adapting and persevered. That resilience gives me a lot of hope in this political moment.

A strange thing about Swedish #archaeology is that it has no common forum for discussion, no common stage to speak from. The closest things to my knowledge are a Facebook group and the quarterly research journal Fornvännen put out by the Academy of Letters. The contract archaeology orgs SUBo and M-ark haven't updated their websites in at least 11 months. Svenska Arkeologiska Samfundet is also very quiet.
