✨ My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4 stars) ✨
An addictive thriller where the detective investigates multiple cases with no apparent connection… until everything starts to make sense. 🕵️♀️🔬
⚠️ Spoiler alert: Be mindful of spoilers ahead!
I won’t lie: I struggled to connect with the protagonist. Her tone didn’t sit well with me at first, but as I got to know her thoughts and emotions, I started to empathize with her. That said, this is book #19 in the series, and while it can be read as a standalone, I definitely missed a lot of her character development from the previous books.
📖 What I liked:
✅ The investigation keeps you hooked, and the pace is relentless: 500 pages covering just a few days days of action.
✅ The twins and DNA plot twist was intriguing.
✅ Savannah, Georgia is almost a character itself—such a beautifully depicted setting! 🌆💙
📖 What I didn’t like:
❌ Cliches (saving the world, among others).
❌ The case resolution felt a bit forced—the killer comes out of nowhere and the way everything wraps up is a bit hard to believe.
🔬 Final thoughts: A fast-paced read with a superhuman protagonist (seriously, she's an expert in almost everything 😂). Not entirely my style, but I get why this series is a bestseller.
