O vaqueiro Romário Miranda Marinho, 36 anos, sofreu um acidente em Curuá, no oeste paraense, e precisou ser transferido para o Hospital Regional do Baixo Amazonas Dr. Waldemar Penna (HRBA), em Santarém, também na região oeste do estado, para uma cirurgia na perna esquerda.

“Estava trabalhando e aconteceu esse acidente. Um cavalo caiu em cima da minha perna e quebrou. Depois do Raio-X, descobri que foram pelo menos duas fraturas. Fiquei muito feliz e honrado por vir logo para cá e ter o privilégio de poder fazer essa cirurgia e voltar para casa o mais rápido, o que eu mais quero, para ficar ao lado do meu filho”, contou o paciente.
Desde junho do ano passado, a Secretaria de Estado de Saúde Pública (Sespa) e a unidade, que é referência em média e alta complexidade para uma população de 1,4 milhão de pessoas em 29 municípios do oeste do Pará, promovem o mutirão de cirurgias, que consiste em procedimentos eletivos extras em cinco especialidades: ortopedia, ginecologia (geral e oncoginecologia), mastologia, cirurgia pediátrica e a colangiopancreatografia retrógrada endoscópica (CPRE).
Nos últimos oito meses, o HRBA já realizou 1.162 cirurgias a mais, beneficiando usuários da região e reduzindo a fila de espera por cirurgias eletivas.
“Os procedimentos cirúrgicos que vêm para a fila de espera do HRBA são aqueles que não conseguem ser executados em unidades de baixa complexidade e o mutirão de cirurgias vem exatamente para desafogar e dar vazão para essa fila de pacientes eletivos de Santarém e dos outros municípios do oeste do Pará”, afirmou o diretor-geral do hospital, Matheus Coutinho.
Logística e meta - Para atender a demanda do mutirão, a unidade montou 10 novos leitos cirúrgicos para receber os pacientes no pré-operatório e também no pós-cirurgia. Além de toda uma logística preparada pela equipe do hospital, com operações no turno da noite, aos finais de semana, identificando os momentos de menor utilização do bloco cirúrgico e otimizando o serviço.
O Regional de Santarém já executa um número expressivo de procedimentos todos os meses em mais de 20 especialidades médicas. Com o mutirão, uma média de 150 cirurgias extras é realizada a cada 30 dias.
A meta do governo do estado é de, ao final de 12 meses do início do projeto, ofertar um total de 1.800 procedimentos cirúrgicos eletivos a mais para os usuários que aguardam pelo atendimento.
"O mutirão de cirurgias no Hospital Regional do Baixo Amazonas é um exemplo claro do compromisso do Governo do Estado com a saúde pública e o bem-estar da população. Através dessa iniciativa, já conseguimos beneficiar mais de mil pacientes, reduzindo significativamente a fila de espera por procedimentos eletivos. Isso reflete o esforço conjunto da SESPA, do HRBA e de todos os profissionais envolvidos, que trabalham incansavelmente para garantir um atendimento de qualidade e ágil para os cidadãos do oeste do Pará. O governo do estado investe em ações como essa, que transformam vidas e reforçam a nossa missão de cuidar das pessoas com eficiência e humanização", explicou Nélio Aguiar, Secretário Regional de Governo do Baixo Amazonas.
