the gingevitis is not easy to heal... teeth get nasty abcesses under them that take time to squish out with massage
the bbq beef is not so great at this when it has too much char, as the charred amino acids contain a lot of glutamate which makes the nerves tweak and this triggers relase of inflammatory cytokines
so i'm going to quit with the char bbq, it's too complicated to do anyway without a ready source of ample wood, just gonna go with gas and frying stuff in butter, what i get out of it is kinda cool but i also have pain issues from the glutamates from excess char that makes my bottom right rear broken molar also flare up and hurt and protrude somewhat, and yes it makes me drool especially when sleeping, so it's basically the same thing
in general, he is starting to show less yellow stain in his feet and back legs in general, still a bit stained, but it's reducing, and i think it's because he's recovering from the sinus infection that is the source of the yellow mucus
so, he's still tongue out, and drooling, but i think he's getting better
he ate a big two servings of 100g pressure cooked mushy meat preserves this morning, but this afternoon i have it in my mind to cook up some more shellfish in butter and share some of it with him, but try to cook it a bit longer so it dries out a bit and is goodly chewy

Las Médulas: all that is left of the largest gold mine in the Roman Empire.
Las Médulas is a Roman mining area located in the Autonomous community of Castile and León, in a mountainous zone in the Northwest of Spain.

In the 1st century AD, the Roman Imperial authorities began to exploit the gold deposits of this region, using a technique based on hydraulic power.
After two centuries of working the deposits, the Romans withdrew, leaving a devastated landscape. Since there was no subsequent industrial activity, the dramatic traces of this remarkable ancient technology are visible everywhere as sheer faces in the mountainsides and vast areas of tailings, now used for agriculture.
The area inscribed on the World Heritage List, the Archaeological Zone of Las Médulas, covers over 2000 ha.
It comprises the mines themselves and also large areas covered by the tailings resulting from the process.
There are dams which used to collect the vast amounts of water needed for the mining process and intricate canals through which the water was conveyed to the mines.
There are villages of both the indigenous inhabitants and the Imperial administrative and support personnel (including army units), as well as one major Roman road and a large number of minor routes, used during mining operations.
The mining process, known to Pliny as ruina montium, made use of the immense power of large bodies of water.
Water from springs, rain and melting snow was collected in large reservoirs, connected to the mines by a system of well-built gravity canals over long distances.
They were cut into the sterile strata, many metres deep, over the layers of auriferous conglomerate.

When the sluices of the dams were opened, enormous quantities of water flowed into the canals, which were closed at their ends.
The pressure thus built up caused the rock to explode and be washed away by the water, forming enormous areas of tailings, several kilometres in length.
The process is vividly apparent on the working face at the main Las Médulas site, where the half-sections of the galleries used for the last operation there stand out against the sheer rock face.
The layers of the auriferous conglomerate were broken up in the same way, but the friable conglomerate was run through washing channels, the heavy gold particles falling to the bottom of the channels.
The non-metallic part escaped to the layers of sterile tailings.
The large boulders resulting from this process were removed by hand, as the neat heaps scattered around the landscape demonstrate.

I’m sad https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/851 never got merged. We built a nostr.wine NWC service that relied on this improved onboarding flow in December of 2023. At the time Mutiny was leading the effort.
I don’t understand why it wasn’t merged then when we had 4 working implementations. It is the only reasonable NWC on-boarding flow I’ve seen for services (like nostr.wine).

Als vor ein paar Jahren entlang der Freiberger Straße neue Häuser errichtet wurden, wurde auf zwei der Gebäude Photovoltaik-Anlagen installiert.
Gute Sach, oder?
Verantwortlichen der Stadtverwaltung stieß es hingegen so übel auf, dass es während meiner Zeit als Stadtbezirksbeirat ('14-'19) hieß:
"Wir wollen von der Fußgänger-Ebene keine PV-Anlagen sehen."
DIESE Anlagen, von denen - ja nach Standort - kaum etwas zu sehen ist, sind für die Stadt Grund, warum auf keinen weiteren Wohngebäuden im Stadtgebiet PV-Anlagen installiert werden dürfen (die vom Boden aus gesehen werden könnten).
(Sollte sich die Haltung der Stadt zwischenzeitlich geändert haben, korrigiert mich gern; Balkonsolar ist möglich.)
Was hingegen kein Problem ist:
ein Sendemast, frisch letzte Woche installiert und deutlich sichtbar.
150m weiter ist das Telekom-Gebäude, auf dem eine ganze Batterie an Sendemasten installiert ist, warum es da diesen zusätzlichen braucht, erschließt sich mir nicht.
