I lean towards having only purposes with very defined aspect ratios, and the apps know if the purpose is 'artwork' then they can safely put that in a 1:1 square and not have to also figure out if the aspect ratio of the 'artwork' works with their apps design.

Das stimmt.
Gerade für 5G wird aber auch mit hübscheren Sachen experimentiert. Die Antennen sind kleiner, da kann mehr machen. In München müssen irgendwo Litfaßsäulen mit Antenne im Innenraum stehen. Und auch Straßenlaternen mit versteckter Antenne existieren. Allerdings sind die dann halt auf Straßenebene und damit ist die Reichweite wieder durch die im Weg stehenden Gebäuden eingeschränkt.
Irgendwo im Norden (Norwegen?) werden die Masten als Bäume getarnt 🤭
