takedown of posts. other than that @roost.tools seems useful; but there might also be a grey area that we haven't discovered in having a ton of apps use the one tool for moderation, although i'm not sure if it'll be some sort of open source thing you can fork and tweak however you like.

bluesky only works so well - for the most part - because they have all the VC funding. over $30M+

don't get me wrong, atproto is still good for making smaller projects, or playing with bluesky data, but it's not as easy to just get up and going with a larger-scale app without needing VC funding. i guess this isn't exactly anything "new" though.

if i wanted to go out and build a new instagram app right now. centralised and all. i would stil need some sort of VC funding to host the servers, moderation, branding, etc..
this is still a thing on atproto, but it also just makes more apps depend and rely on bluesky's service. (not good for long

this all kind of goes against the idea of atproto of having a single identity but using different types of apps, when all your apps end up being posted to the same bluesky lexicon. just a ton of bluesky clients at that point. think like having twitterrific, tweetbot, etc.. years ago

so i'm not REALLY sure how this is best done. not sure if it's worth looking into how nostr does it a bit. they can build their own apps for different purposes but the actually moderation is down to the relays (to remove CSAM, etc..) - maybe atproto coudl do something similar for the most OBVS
