Silvia Waiãpi se referiu a Daniel Chagas, de 16 anos. O jovem morava em Breves, no Pará, mas teve de buscar ajuda no sistema de saúde de Macapá. Ele não resistiu e morreu.
A deputada comparou os dias atuais com o período medieval. Antigamente, os Incas (indígenas que viviam na América do Sul) sacrificavam mulheres e crianças quando os vulcões entravam em erupção. Segundo os indígenas, os sacrifícios eram necessários para acalmar os deuses.
“Atualmente, mulheres e crianças são sacrificadas no Brasil por outros motivos”, disse Silvia Waiãpi”. “Hoje, é para manter a estabilidade econômica de outras nações.”
