Update: I'm at the point now where I can just use my new error crate in a downstream project as a replacement for thiserror and I'm not worrying about error definitions anymore. I spend most of my time now actually working on the downstream project itself.
Error things just work now and it even feels easy! That's probably a good sign.
Maybe the crate is ready for some docs and maybe a public release.
