#Introduction Hi, beautiful Fedizens. First I'd like to brag that I used to do brain surgeries on fruit flies, and work as an editor for an international law firm, because those positions made me feel I had a little "status" I think. It felt like I mattered more to me then. But, second, really, I still matter to me a bit, even though I just hang out now in the Fediverse and try to do what activist work I can manage from home, where I hide from the demands of the commercial world as much as possible and depend on my spouse for support. This is my umpteenth account, because at first I didn't migrate when I switched instances. So I was at .social, then union.place, then autonomous.zone, for example. This is my second try on kolektiva, and I have a few accounts on other instances for experimental reasons too.
This morning I whipped up some bio text to share on my website so I will link to that here: https://redthebean.net/about.html But in general, all you need to know about me is that I am still alive, and I want to work with every other person I can to get us out of this autocratic, finance-capitalist nightmare hurtling into total ecological and social disaster. I think I have good ideas about how we will do that, but I struggle to get these thoughts into writing that I'd feel others would want to read. So please wish me luck with that.
In my opinion, Mastodon is one of the few popular FOSS platforms we have for finding each other, and for coordination and communication, so I am really glad we are here, and that you are reading this. Signal is another means. You can reach me there at resl.17. It might seem like we can't maintain a lot of connections or relationships, but I think that we are in connection no matter what, and making it explicit and intentional is a first step to better self-governance and self-organizing. There is not much we need more than our class solidarity and trust in each other's goodwill right now. I think it might be that our revolution and peace come more readily the more we see that we want for each according to their needs and from each according to their abilities. It is a horrific moment, where the world is full of autocrats, deadly weapons, police, and militaries. So for all of us, I hope we can bind together to survive these circumstances and fight with all we've got for a life without them.

Last night I finally did a little #coding project with an #AI assistant. The tech is really good. It reminds me of pair programming with an eager, super talented junior dev: fast and competent, but with some bad habits and in need of guidance.
It’s so sad that we just got the #StarTrek computer, but instead of ushering in a post-scarcity socialist utopia, it’s going to destroy the climate, demolish creative craftsman jobs, and squeeze out the middle class for the benefit of greedy psychopaths.

CNN reports that a summit between Presidents Trump and Putin is now being fast-tracked in the wake of the explosive row with Zelensky, which saw him booted from the White House before a planned lunch was to take place Friday.
Last month saw talks in Riyadh aimed at fully restoring US-Russia relations end on a positive note between the delegations headed by Rubio and Lavrov. There was a follow-on meeting in Istanbul, leading to the restaffing of embassies (which had previously seen a tit-for-tat booting of diplomatic staff).

"[Zelensky] is not ready to talk peace at all. Here is the problem, time is not on his side. Time is not on the side of just forever continuing this conflict," Waltz said on Fox.
"It was really confounding to us that Zelensky could have left the White House Friday having the US and Ukraine bound together economically for a generation," Walz said in reference to the rare earth minerals deal that was supposed to be signed.
Still, Ukraine's Zelensky says US support is "crucial" as he attempts to salvage the relationship. After being accused of being ungrateful by Vice President JD Vance on Friday, Zelensky spent the weekend tweeting out a serios of 'thank you' messages, and also at one point expressed: "It’s crucial for us to have President Trump’s support."
Even the Biden administration long complained that Zelensky seemed ungrateful for the tens of billions Washington has devoted to the war effort:

Ich habe in den letzten zwei Jahren einiges über Kommunismus und Sozialismus gelesen (außer Hitlers Nationalsozialismus).
Ich finde erschreckend wie viele sozialistische und Kommunistische Denker und Führer "Juden eliminieren" oder "Ausländer eliminieren" wollen. Wenngleich das Wort "Ausländer" manchmal nur soviel bedeutete wie "Mensch unseres Volkes, der sich dem Regime nicht unterwirft". Ausländer waren es meist nur, weil ihnen die. Bürgerrechte des Systems in dem Sie lebten entzogen wurde.
Selbst die Bolschewiken wollten Juden eliminieren, während die Russische Bevölkerung nach dem Einmarsch Deutschlands darüber sprach, dass "Wenn Hitler unsere Städte erobert, wird er überall folgende Mitteilung anschlagen lassen" Bei mir werden Arbeiter, die 21 Minuten zu spät zur Arbeit kommen, nicht vor Gericht gestellt, wie das eure Regierung tut."
Freilich würden solche Redensarten streng bestraft. U.a. wurden 110 Bahnarbeiter wegen dem Weitersagen dieses Satzes hingerichtet. Unter den Bewohnern Moskaus gab es eine Gruppe die den deutschen Sieg über die Juden und Bolschewiken begrüßte. Man muss sich mal reinziehen, dass der Sozialismus so hilflos macht, dass man Hoffnung in ein anderes (genauso tödliches) Sozialistisches System setzt.

Monday #Workout:
200 seconds of plank.
11 minutes of yoga for runners.
10 minutes of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training).
12.2 KM of #Running (-23°C, -27°C windchill, 82% humidity, and 5 km/hr wind).
Easy workouts, and a foggy, cold morning run. Canal ice was extra slippery due to the cold, but I was only on it for a kilometre or so. Ended up with a pretty great #IceBeard that seems to fascinate young children. 🤣
Bonus that our street should be cleared today! Now, on to laundry!
